Chapter 11 - Search [3]

The battle between Leon and the three beings was ongoing with tremendous destruction. The ground was falling apart, the stones were turning to ashes, and the falling stars were colliding with an intangible force, perishing.

One man against three, yet no one was making the other side overwhelming in any aspect.

When Leon's sword would move, something would be sliced into pieces. It was inevitable to escape from. Heltin was the only one managing to evade his sword, but several parts of the time mandala behind him were missing.

His movements are difficult to read, for a moment they would be seen as coming at me and then they would be moving somewhere else.

How much Heltin focus, Leon's direction of attacks would change the very moment he would finish calculating them.

Gargil's one arm was missing, and a big bone was apparent. His fists, how big or muscular they were, when striking Leon, were as light as a feather.

Fire burst out from the mount's mouth, but before those roaring flames could devour Leon, they would disappear completely. Whatever element he would materialize and chuck towards Leon, they would disappear.

The wind was like a downpour of glass with sharp edges, and water was shoved towards him like a dagger.

"I can't comprehend it. How are our abilities so useless against him? Is this some sort of anti-magic?" Heltin shouted, his mind rummaging through his knowledge to find an answer.

"Anti-magic? No… this is the peak of my dimension; it is a dimension where a human dwells. It is the mastery; it is what really SSS level looks like." Leon roared out loud.

Leon glared at Heltin, causing his body to shudder violently, flesh and bones, heart and soul. Nothing that didn't shake. Leon could see through him, and he could see through Leon.

"When you look at time, it's nothing more than a tool to measure something. It doesn't understand or tell your destination or your fate, Heltin."

The time mandala behind Heltin shattered into pieces, leaving Heltin only more confused. His mind was in a mess, trying to fathom what was unfathomable. His ears were bleeding, however.

I don't have ears, then how? He touched them, which were similar to a human's ear, and they were real.

Gargil was seeing this view too, and so was the mount; their body was stiff, unable to move even an inch. They had underestimated their enemy; the glory they had accumulated out of arrogance was now leading them to their own deaths.

They had lived for a very long time; because of that, the fear of what death is had long gone from their minds, but now the time has come.

They weren't ready to accept it. No, not that easily.

That fear had caused them to go all out; every ounce of their power was being utilized. They rushed to their enemy while he was distracted by Heltin.

When Heltin noticed them coming his way, he shouted at them; it was a warning.

"What are you doing, you fools?! Run! You can't win no matter what you do."

Both of them didn't heed; instead, Gargil proudly exclaimed, "I'm the lord of the seven kingdoms of Saktar; realms tremble before my presence."

Gargil charged first; behind him was the mount. Leon didn't whirl towards him; rather, his back was shown to the two beings. He answered to what Gargil had said.

His voice was solemn as ever. "When no one remembers the seven kingdoms of Saktar, how would they remember someone that never existed for them?"

Leon's hand quivered, and glitter emerged from the mouth of the being with four hands. A giant cavity was made at the center of the chest; Gargil tried to heal, but the heart that was supposed to beat was shaking, and it was as hard as a rock.

The mount legs were severed, and so was his head. Only glitter came out. His heart was compressed between the unseen force; it was trapped and crashed.

Their bodies began to float around in the air; weight was like an ant. Leon and Heltin, standing on the ground, were watching them recede away.

"I will ask you this once, Heltin." He darts a deathly glare at Heltin, completely paralyzing him on the spot. "How much do you know about this boy, Leon Ackerman?"

A sting to the nose and his lips were in tremor. He couldn't speak up as if he forgot how to articulate.

The edge of the sword, which Leon held in hand, touched Heltin's nose; his blood turned cold, and his voice stuck in his throat.

"I keep my words; you shouldn't be in despair." Leon assured.

Even after that, Heltin was skeptical. He wasn't a fool; he had seen the enemy and would surely alert the palace. Leon wouldn't let him be freed.

"I don't know much, but the prophecy says he will be the next vessel to awake the Titans of Asmus."

"Those 'Titans' outside the palace?"

Heltin nodded.

But that never happened in my previous life…

Those Titans, according to the prophecy, will cause ceaseless destruction if they are awakened from the deep slumbers; if they fall into the hands of the kingdom of these people, they will eradicate everything.

But what will they get if they eradicate everything? Leon didn't understand it. It was indeed something that had more to it.

"I will just destroy the titans then."

"You can't; they say until death itself doesn't come for them, they won't."

"Then I will be 'death' for them."

Leon might have the knowledge regarding his foes, but about the titans, it was little to none. He never fought them, nor had he seen their strength. He had only seen them when entering the palace; they had enormous stature and various weapons they held in hand.

He could only assume they are an enemy that he will have a fray in the future but before that he must put an end to the king.

"An absurd statement; no one can stop them, not even the strongest within this realm."

Leon swung his sword and stabbed it in the ground next to a boulder, almost shaped like a throne. Leon sat on it and rested his hands on the pommel of his sword. His palms were warmed by the energy emanating from the pommel.

Vile air would rush in through his mouth and would come out purified of all harmfulness intermingled with it.

Light that fell into his eyes couldn't find a way out.

His lips split apart, and words flood out, "That doesn't, right now, take me back to the hall."

Heltin couldn't resist his demand; he had to do it. Heltin's hands move in the empty space, and the whole place was being sucked into a single point within a tiny hole, and the exterior of the hall began to appear.

The sword was stabbed on the floor, and a faint light was emerging from where it was stabbed. It was purple in color.

That must be the route; all I have to do is to break the floor.

Leon smashed the ground with his fist; it quaked before lines formed, and it started to fall into pieces, unearthing the darkness that was beneath it.

Leon and Heltin were about to fall when a voice echoed in the hall.

"You brat, it's a trap; we must escape before something atrocious transpires." The voice belonged to Darlos, his voice filled with anxiety.

Before Leon could understand what Darlos was saying, a heavy gravity swathed Leon's body. Leaving him completely vulnerable. It was uncanny how his powers were suddenly restricted; his body had become stiff.

Leon plunged into the abyss, and his body vanished along with his sword.

Dammit, not a good time.

Darlos, without hesitation, jumped into the hole and disappeared in it.
