After everyone left, Carl asked peter to stay back
"What's up" he asked although he tried acting nonchalant he was worried about Carl
"I want you to check out something for me" Carl said
"Sure what is it" Peter asked anxious, he was anxious because of the look on Carl's face, it didn't look like what she was going to ask him to do has anything to do with their ongoing case.
"Florence Benieve" she said in a whisper
"What about her" Peter asked
"I want everything about her" Carl said peter looked like he wanted to say something but he didn't instead he just nodded his head
"I'll work on it" he said with a smile
"Thank you" Carl said with gratitude after peter left she took out a picture,
"What if- no Carl, we just need reassurance it can't be" she said to herself with a sigh she put back the old rusted black and white photo back in the drawer...
Carl decided to stay back and then later go see the Andersons and how they were settling in..
"Carl" saffron knocked
"Come in" Carl said
"The team searched the device again and found a few stuff" saffron said getting herself comfortable on the couch opposite Carl
"Here" she added
"You managed to track the unknown numbers" Carl asked but more like said
"It's a dead end the server was at a cafe but the ip address led us to the abandoned building where Jennifer was found" saffron answered
"Her friend Sofia also sent her a location and when we traced it.. it led to the park" saffron continued
"What park" Carl asked
"Not the 'Goodtime people's park' she did pass by that park but the park location Sofia sent leads to another park about 12 miles from the Goodtime people's park'" saffron said
"Yes from the cctv footage..you can see she was heading somewhere but quite diverted" Carl said nodding
"I want you to check through Sofia's phone now" Carl instructed
"Ryan and Beatrice are on it" saffron replied
"Anything else" Carl asked
"The first caller was Denna" saffron whisper said
"Denna" Carl said but more like asked
"The call where she was standing in front of the hotel and waving her hand left and right looking mad it was thesame time as the call 6:55" saffron said
"I want an investigation on that call..contact the phone and I want that call record okay" Carl instructed
"Yes ma'am but there's more" saffron said
"More" Carl asked exasperated
"Everlin had a fight with Jennifer 2days before her death and I heard a lil story it was about Charon and Denna" saffron informed
"Why" Carl asked
"I think I'm not sure but I think Jennifer is BI" saffron said in a whisper again
"Like the rainbow people" Carl asked innocently
"Carl" saffron said exasperated
"And yes like that" she added with a little laugh
"Why do you think that" Carl asked
"Well there was a recorded call on Jennifer's phone when she was arguing with Denna and she said I quote "I see you swing both ways..pick one bitch and lemme tell you Charon doesn't shot arrows and do you want me to tell her about your little Ken affair damn wouldn't that ruin you Rachel" saffron explained
" I want to hear the whole recorded call" Carl said nodding with understanding
"Well that's all for now" saffron said standing up
"Saffron get Kaneth to help you and tell Ryan I'll need the report on those phone asap okay" Carl instructed
"On it captain" saffron said as she walked out. Carl couldn't help take a long big sigh looks like things were getting messier than better. This case wasn't as simple as it looks or sounds. A whole bunch of suspects and it looks like all of them have dead ends the moment you want to rule them out something comes up again. Carl decided to check the report miller gave her about the autopsy
"Jennifer had 15 stab wounds all to her legs and it looks like the killers intend to not to kill her with those wounds but paralyze her and it worked because her legs were very week making her chance of escape lower. her final cause of death was strangling..there was a mark on her neck but there was no DNA which was baffling to say the least it look like the killer tried at first but then stopped but then went at it again and that's when she lost her life..the blood stains on the abandoned building's wall was mostly Jennifer's and that was from her head bleeding it looked like her head was bashed on the wall but there was another DNA as well but it's also O negative just like Jennifer's but it's not hers"
"Peter" Carl called through the station phone
"Yes?" Peter answered
"I need you in my office" Carl said
"U called" Peter said closing the door behind him
"Look at this" Carl said handing everything to Peter
"Interesting" Peter nodded after reading through everything
"You want blood samples" Peter said reading Carl's mind
"You know me too well" Carl said with a little smile
"Don't worry I'll get on it" Peter said "just calm your mind down okay" he added giving Carl a smile.. after Peter left carl called in Martin
"Captain" he answered as he got in
"Let the girls go and monitor them very well and closely I want to see what they'll be up to" carl instructed
"Tell Peter to divide you guys into teams to monitor the girls" carl added
"Yes caption" Martin nodded before leaving.
"Girls" Martin called when he reached the cafeteria.. Charon, Everlin and Denna were asleep Sofia was reading a magazine and sipping coffee and scarlet was was sitting on her own and clipping her nails. Sofia and scarlet looked up at Martin
"Everlin..Charon wake up" Sofia called tapping the girls while scarlet woke Denna up
"You can go home and we'll call you back when need be" Martin informed the girls which immediately got them into action they definitely wanted to leave this police station which was literally like a hunted house to them
"But your not allowed to travel out of the state for the time being without informing our department" Martin added he then handed them each a card
"Call this number if you have any information to report or if you do wanna leave the state for any emergencies" Martin said
"What are we suppose to call you with" Denna asked but of course Denna being Denna something sarcastic as to follow "oh wait yeah telepathy" she added and Sofia spilled her coffee that was in her mouth
"Sorry" she apologized wiping her mouth "it was just a bit funny" she added
"Well that is for you to figure out" Martin replied with a stone cold face
"Let's go" Everlin said to Denna sounding tired
"Bye guys" she added waving at the girls
"Take care okay" Sofia said giving Everlin a hug "you can call my home phone if you need anything and your having the spare key to my place right" Sofia added letting go of the hug
"Yes mom" Everlin said with a sad smile "I know you've got my back" she whispered to Sofia and she nodded
"I need a hug too" scarlet said as she hugged Sofia as well
"Same goes for you" Sofia said referring to the call and visit
"I know" scarlet nodded
"Charon" sofia called when she didn't come for a hug
"I think you need it too" she said giving sofia a hug
"Sure do" she said returning the hug..as they were leaving Denna smiled at sofia and she smiled back the girls didn't expect any hug the two girls hated each other's guts.
"They already left" Martin reported to Carl and Peter who were having a conversation at the station gate
"Like I said okay" Peter said
"Sure vice" Martin nodded heading in
"Why don't you head home now" Peter said to Carl
"I have to see the Andersons" Carl said with a tired yawn
"I'll take care of that" Peter said patting her shoulder
"You already have so much on your plate" Carl protested
"Just go home..I'll take care of it by the way Chris might be missing you" Peter said and Carl chuckled
"If you insist" she said
"I do" Peter replied
"Bye peter until tomorrow" Carl said with a nod as she walked off..Peter just waved her off before heading back in.
"Home sweet home" Carl said finally arriving home she threw her bag and it landed on the sofa, her shoe flying in different directions, if not for the coat hanger by the door her coat would have made it somewhere on the floor
"Baby?" A voice called from the kitchen
"Hey" Carl said as Chris walked into the living room
"You must be exhausted" Chris said as he walked up to remove her socks for her
"Damn right" she replied as she leaned on the seat
"How was your case" Carl asked
"A success" Chris said with a proud smile
"Expected but congratulations" Carl said as she bend to give Chris a kiss
"How's your case?" Chris asked
"A whole lot more complicated" Carl answered leaning back
"Told you doesn't look like a pie-too- easy baking type of case" Chris said
"And your right" Carl said
"I'm making some Mac and cheese want some" Chris asked
"I'm starving apart from the fries Peter gave me I didn't have anything after that pie breakfast" Carl said walking into the kitchen
"Peter huh" Chris said jealousy lacing in his voice
"Come on Chris" Carl said turning to face him
"Fine, fine I'm sorry" he said raising his hands in surrender.
"Go take a shower first and by the time your down the food will be ready" Chris added
"Okay" Carl said with a smile heading upstairs
"Oh I almost forgot, there's a package for you" Chris said
"A package, what's in it" Carl asked
"I didn't check but it's up in your room" Chris replied from the kitchen
"Okay thanks" Carl thanked heading upstairs..she saw the package on her bed but decided to take a shower first after a very satisfying bath she got dressed then decided to check out the package but the moment she opened the package and she saw the contents she couldn't help screamed
"Carl, Carl is everything okay" Chris rushed upstairs in a panic, Carl was sitting in the corner the package on the floor it's content scattered on the floor and her trembling, her hand over her mouth and sobbing
"Are you okay" Chris asked but that just made Carl cry more
"It's okay" Carl said giving her a hug after what felt like 20 minutes Carl finally calmed down that was because she passed out in Chris arms after putting her to bed Chris went to gather up the things from the package it was pictures and two teddy bears and a little bed side lamp and a letter it looked normal but then the pictures were pictures of 'Jennie brown' Carl's daughter who passed away 9 years ago it may look like she was over it but to the people that knew her she was far from it she was just a strong woman..the teddy bears were Jennie's aswell and the little lamp..there was nothing wrong with the package if not for the fact that Jennie was kidnapped, raped and murdered those pictures at least 90% of them were the pictures taken of poor Jennie while she was kidnapped, dead and the ones the police took for investigation purposes and one of the teddy bears was the same type she was having when she was kidnapped and the other one was her favorite teddy she always slept with it..the teddy bears weren't the exact ones she owned but it was the same type nevertheless.. Chris and Carl meet during this incident.. he was the lawyer that was hired to stand for Jennie against the murderer..he was given life in prison without the possibility of parole. He picked up the letter and in bold writing on the cover in her favorite color pink it read
*From Jennie to mom and dad, Peter brown and Carl whiteman* Chris opened the letter and the only thing there was a picture of Peter, Chris, sam and the rest of Carl's team they were in thesame photo he remembered it was back in June on Carl's birthday he turned the photo and on the back is rewritten
