As soon as my eyes locked onto the figure standing over me it felt like time froze. Someone was inside my house right now. I was in my bed and they were standing over me.
In a single brief moment, thousands of calculations ran through my mind as I pulled from the knowledge of Heavenly Comprehension to draw from the ability to replicate any potion effect I had created before. Supercooled mist gathered around my body surprising the assailanti they tried to jump away as I finished the spell.
'Borealis Phalanx!'
The mist formed a spherical barrier around my body as spears of mist extended from it trying to impale the figure while they deftly and almost effortlessly dodged them as the room was trashed. I quickly shot out of my bed and summoned the Boosted Gear feeling my power increase substantially while quickly scouring my notifications and found it.

I reinforced the mist around me as the robed figure pulled out a sword and slashed the sword blurred and a sharp gale that screamed danger tore apart my shield like paper making me bend down to dodge it before stomping on the ground and creating a transmutation circle that sent a wave of spikes but my enemy crushed them with ease and rushed at me with speeds I could barely perceive. In the time it took for me to blink, he was already in front of my face.
'No point in conserving stamina if the gap is so high!'
Drawing on more power I replicated Borealis again, the frozen mist swirled in my lungs and I breathed out, sending a cascade of flame-like ice toward him while he quickly raised his sword to block it but he was still sent across the entire mansion from the blast, taking the opportunity I quickly used Insight on them.
[Robed Assasin]
A high-class expert Devil assassin specializing in Wind Magic, Curses and Swordplay. Their goal wasn't to kill you, but they are intent on kidnapping you even at the cost of their lives.
"{Balance Breaker: Limit Break}!"
The announcement rang out and I felt all of my parameters peak but in the time it took for my parameters to rise the Assasin also heard the announcement and rushed me even faster than before with his blade raised before swinging at me.
Schwing!
Gritting my teeth I activated focus, the world around me got blurry as my senses locked onto the assassin who had just cut my left arm off with his blade. I narrowed my eyes, Limit Break was still active.
Walls and ground shattered and I pulled in the rubble like a black hole onto my hand using dominator's touch, my gauntlet switched to Terra Catalyst and I increased the temperature of the giant boulder in my hand so fast that even the assassin looked like he was in slow motion thanks to Limit Break.
Red, the ball heated up.
Light red, the ball melted down to magma.
Orange, the giant ball of magma under command heated up even more.
Yellow, the ball started crackling with heat as the surface sent broiling flames everywhere.
Light yellow, the molten ball of death approached the heat of the surface of the sun, taking on the shape of a dragon's head.
The Assassin only managed to raise his sword defensively and form a barrier in front of him before I slammed the molten ball of death on him backed with all of my power.
"Draco Meteor!"
BOOOOOM!!!
Under his hood, the assassin's eyes widened as the meteor shattered his barrier and hit him with the wrath of a dragon, the blast from it simply hitting the assassin turned the entire mansion into rubble.
Crash! Roar!
Roar of flames and screeches could be heard throughout the entirety of Lilith as the Assasin's body was thrown out of the city, dragged along by a molten mass of rock and metal with the heat of the sun as they smashed the sound barrier ten times over, cleaving their way through any obstacle that was melted down to slag by the Draco Meteor just approaching them.
Crash!!!
Finally, the assassins body met the ground and created a crater over a hundred meters wide after their body was sheared through tens of thousands of tons of rock with the assistance of the meteor.
I did not let them have any reprieve or chance to recover however as I turned to Aero Catalyst and covered the 5-kilometer gap with a single bound thanks to maximum boosts that I had now stacked thanks to the limit breaker and diverting all of the air around me to get rid of friction using Aero catalyst.
Arriving on top of him my eyes enhanced by focus dimmed out the world around me while showing me my target in full detail, I saw his muscles twitch when I appeared before him, he was playing dead.
'Borealis!'
The frozen mist of the dragon appeared again as I weaved them into chains with seals engraved on them before shooting them toward the downed assassin while spreading more mist chains around to lock the area down, one of my eyes went red from the blood vessels rupturing, I will have to level down from max stack soon, and if I can't take him down by the time I do...
The man abandoned the act and jumped out of the crater, one of his arms was missing like mine, burnt to ash by my meteor, I could see the glint in his eyes, he would now go for my life to save his own instead of doing it to accomplish a mission.
He tore apart the chains with his remaining arm using a martial art I didn't recognize. He was rushing me again but with my max stack I could deal with it, he was weaker than my max stack but I couldn't maintain my max stack.
But I didn't need to.
"{Explosion!}"
Just as his fist was about to meet me the announcement rang out and at that moment I switched to Biological Transmutation Catalyst. And then my hand grabbed his arm before his attack reached me.
"Grraaaaaaaaahhhhhhh!!!!!!"
A bloodcurdling cry of pain resounded as I used all of the accumulated mana from the boosts to brute force through his innate mana resistance before using biological transmutation to turn most of his skeleton into spikes that impaled all of his limbs from the inside out alongside his spine below his neck, completely immobilizing his from the neck down.
Unfurling my wings I grabbed the now anguished man and slowly floated down before dropping him down unceremoniously and pulling a stamina and mana potion from my inventory then downing both.
Feeling my stamina and mana recover I looked at the downed Assassin gritting his teeth and groaning in anguish, his limbs looked like tens of sharp bone branches were growing out of them.
I was bone tired but my rage was hotter than ever.
The only thing that was left was to extract whatever information I needed from this man, regardless of if I had to break his mind to get it.
Just as I was about to reach down and take that man with me I felt a giant familiar mana signature come to me. And moments later Serafall landed next to me looking dishevelled.
"Taku-kun? I heard your mansion explode and came as soon as I hea- WHAT HAPPENED TO YOUR ARM!? WHO DO I NEED TO FREEZE?" Serafall suddenly screeched into my ear like a mandrake making me wince and shoot her a look of annoyance.
Exhaling through my nose I channelled the stamina I recovered into high-speed regeneration, under Sera's nose my arm slowly started growing back inch by inch.
"He happened." I gestured to the writhing assassin on the ground. "Someone tried to assassinate me, some noble I assume since this guy was pretty strong." Hearing my words Serafall pushed her seemingly boiling anger down as she took a look at the man on the ground and took off his cowl and looked at his face before exclaiming in surprise.
"That's the sleeping blade Grenalde Verai, an infamous assassin and mercenary who works for the highest bidder he is pretty damn strong for a high tier he has been off the grid for a hundred years, I thought he was dead. Whoever bought him must have paid a lot. Don't worry Takumi I will make sure to find whoe-" I cut her off.
"No need." I didn't give a single inkling of trust to her and the rest of the satans capabilities considering I was almost taken in their fucking capital, they took several minutes to figure out something was wrong with my mansion exploding.
I crouched down and looked at the writhing man in the eyes as Serafall reluctantly stepped back.
"Seems like some nobles in this underworld take the privilege of not being torn apart by a hundred plagues too lightly." At my words Serafall looked uncomfortable and she should be.
If I put my mind to it, I could make a very effective plague that would spread very fast. Sure, Ajuka could cure it in less than a month but I could simply create a new plague during the time he takes to cure the first one.
Simply put, the speeds at which they would make cures for my plagues would fail to outpace the rate at which I made new ones.
"Speak if you know what's good for you." I declared while looking into the man's eyes as he sneered while I flexed my full dragon aura, making the ground below us crack.
"H-heh, if you think this little scratch is going to make me talk you must be stupid boy! I am a professional, I would rather die than to tattle little boy."
I sighed.
"Well, it's good that you are setting the bar so low, because the things I can do to you are far, far worse than anything any afterlife could conjure up. So, I am giving you one last chance. Spit your words out now and you will at least leave here as the same person you came here as."
He had the balls to laugh.
"Hahaha, do you best bra-" Bam! I punched his jaw to shut his mouth, I summoned Absorption Line in my other newly regenerated hand and drained his mana.
"That's the absorption line!? But I thought-"
"Sera, let me focus please."
After having drained the mana out of the downed man I donned biological catalyst and put my hand on his head then...
"Grarahrfaahsuahıaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhahahhahahahaaaaaaaaaaah!!!!!!" He started seizing violently on the floor, frothing at the mouth but even as he trashed I did not lift my hand.
"STOPPP PLEASE STOP IM BEGGING YOU PLEASE PLASE I'M SORRY PLEASE I'M BEGGING YOU STOP STOP STOP PLEASE ARARARAGEAAHSAISHFAHHHH!!!!" After a full minute, I lifted my hand from his head as he wheezed for dear breath while Serafall approached me with concern.
"Takumi-kun? What did you just do?"
"I just slowed his thoughts down while amplifying all sensations of pain as well as all of his pain receptors before messing with his nerves and injuries a little. From his perspective, it was like all of the agony of that was condensed into a single minute that was stretched to several hours while his mind was trapped inside of his body."
I turned my gaze back to the man on the floor.
"So? Feel like talking now or should make it longer and more painful? how about a month next time?" He shook his head vehemently. He was a selfish assassin at heart after all, lowlife like him would rather tattle than to suffer for the sake of others.
"N-n-no!!! Please! I'll talk! Please! It was the Phenex family! Lord Phenex specifically! He wanted me to kidnap you and scare you for messing with his family and business! I was ordered to not kill you but to make sure that 'you learnt your place'! And also to get you to unseal his son! Please I know nothing else! That was the extent of my contract please!"
I smiled.
So that was it.
My grin widened.
Seems like someone had to learn their place.

A/N: Wheh, been a while since I wrote a fight scene for Takumi huh? Hopefully, I haven't gone rusty. What did you guys think about the fight between the assassin and Takumi? Takumi may be incredibly strong but that's because of his gimmicks, this was the first fight that Takumi was woefully unprepared for and it showed.
Also, Takumi should have anticipated that the Phenex family would retaliate but even he was unexpected for what kinds of things Prideful Devils resort after you trample on their pride so hard and so thoroughly. Now though, Lord Phenex really dropped the ball and Takumi will make sure he knows it.
