Chereads / Soaring as a Monster Bird in my Next Life! / Chapter 5 - Aven to Vitaliana

Chapter 5 - Aven to Vitaliana

My 5 sisters went to work burning away the bodies of the egg thieves. Their bodies releasing a truly foul stench into the air... I seriously tried to eat that... UGH! GROSS YUCK!

"Pfft, you're a funny daughter, you deserve a reward, I'll give you a name befitting your soul. You've been reincarnated, meaning you have a strong life in your soul. So your name is... Vitaliana!" The mother said with a smile.

Vitaliana... I... I used to be a guy in my previous life... but, this... This name... It feels like... I'm reborn all over again. Only this time I didn't have to die... I love this name, it's great! Thanks mommy!

It was at this time a huge amount of an odd energy flowed into Vitaliana's tiny body. This would be the start of much change within her. However, as much as could be seen and felt going into her body, there was also much going into her soul. Almost a refinement of sorts...

"""Mother, you gave our little sister a name already! So generous!""" The 5 elder sisters shouted in surprise.

"What? I've already given you names. And she was just too adorable to not have a name. And look at this she grew a little bit." Vitaliana's mother said with a pout. Now revealing her true self after having a moment to relax and recover.

"Awe! Her feathers are so cute! Having bright feathers that radiate like this, we had to evolve into a Tori Naru before we got feathers like this!" The eldest sister said, all but swooning over the newly named Vitaliana.

"Hey! Acialia! Stop hogging the view, I can't see little Sister Vitaliana!" The 2nd eldest sister said, rushing over as well.

"Now, now children. It's not good to fight like this. We don't fight our own kind." The mother said, in a stern voice to get them to stop. "This rowdy bunch are your big sisters. Going from eldest to youngest their names are; Acialia, Aieria, Fulgiana, Flairiana, Fernia. And I'm your mother, Eternia. Of course you can call me; Mom, mommy, mother, mommy dearest, bestest most beautiful mommy there ever was..." Eternia continued on...

"Mother, I think Vitaliana gets the point. Let's go find a new place to nest. I could use a roost after today." Fernia said, quickly stopping her mother before she went any further.

Eternia pouted cutely at her daughter. "Awe! Come on, how can you say no to such a cutie like this! Just look at your little sister, isn't she just the cutest? She reminds me of..." Eternia said, holding out Vitaliana and pulling her back. "No, let's not talk about that now. I have to report this to my mother as well. She's not going to be happy about this..." She finished saying in a depressed tone with a hint of terror.

Vitaliana was held in Eternia's hands as Eternia floated up. And with a motion of Eternia's finger, her eggs floated up as well.

Let's see what Analysis says about these eggs...

DAMN IT! DAMN IT DAMN IT! I'LL SLAUGHTER THOSE HUMANS!

The look on Eterina's face turned to one devoid of happiness. Yet there wasn't sorrow or depression, no, she was enraged at this.

"Children, I don't blame you. But, I'm not letting this insult against me stand like this. Will you come as well?" Eternia asked, looking at her five daughters hovering in mid air, their wings beating the wind.

"""KILL THEM ALL!!!""" They cawed, now sensing the reason for their mother's fury.

"Vitaliana will need someone to keep her safe. So she will stay with me. The five of you..." Eternia started giving orders.

Acquire telepathy!... Telepathy Acquired!

"Mommy! I wanna help kill them too!" Vitaliana spoke directly to her mother and sisters for the first time. Before this, only Eternia could get a sense for what Vitaliana was feeling.

"But... It's dangerous! Please wait here for us to return..." Acialia begged in reply, out of worry.

"NO! I want to kill them! This is the first family I've had and those damn humans took them from me! I'll have my vengeance." Vitaliana said with a pained cry.

"Those guns were able to run us through." Fernia retorted in shock.

"The weapons they use are heavily flawed, so weak, the only thing that needs to be worried about is the Anti-Magic Bomb! But those are stupidly expensive. They likely only have at most one more in the entire empire. Which they will likely use in the war against the demons, if that's still going." She continued, refusing to give way.

"What about them makes them weak?" Fernia asked in surprise.

"They are all or nothing weapons. Acquire the right skills and the weapons are rendered useless. But, I think Mother would be fine, even without the right skills. If even the Anti-Magic Bomb doesn't work on her then nothing will." Vitaliana answered.

"That could work, but we'd need to figure out which skills would render them ineffective. And then we have to acquire them." Arieia spoke up to contest Vitaliana's suggestion.

"Then we test them! I didn't have them before, but I know that with piercing resistance and kinetic resistance together, it should be possible to avoid most of the weapon's damage." Vitaliana explained.

"Awesome! Little sister is great! Already knowing these things... Mother, allow me to test the human's defenses." Fulgiana asked, raring to go, the energy around her was growing intense... Clearly indicating she had obtained the skills at that very moment.

"Hold on, Vitaliana, I know you are a reincarnation. But, you seem to know a lot about these weapons." Eternia asked, her daughter gently petting her.

"Mommy, I used to be a High Magus known as, Sir Aven. All of the magic wielders in the Empire had been openly against these kinds of weapons. Originally it was because we feared them. But I did more research... The only reason I didn't get the skills before... It's stupid, but I wanted to save up skill points for something else. The most expensive thing there ever was. But now..." Vitaliana explained herself.

"Oh? Wow, and do you feel about it? Regretful?" Eternia asked.

All of the sisters looked at Vitaliana waiting to hear the answer. Eternia just continued petting her little girl.
