Chapter 33 - Tutorial (Hunter) - 19
It is the auto-arm trap that Vesper plants during the early game. Its teeth crush Zillion's bone and latch inside his flesh.
Screaming in pain, Zillion kneels and grabs the bear trap, prying it open.
Suddenly, the entire bear trap shines in golden light. It melts and turns into a solid object, becoming one with Zillion's leg forever! Zillion screams louder as multiple petrified nerves send pain signals to his brain, intensifying the agony.
Due to his loud noise, the ghost girl pursues Zillion. She gently hugs him from behind and phases into his body, possessing him.
*CRACK*
All bones in Zillion's body shatter as the ghost molds him into a flesh ball. She leaves his body and throws his corpse toward the wall.
*SPLASH*
The mass of flesh explodes upon hitting the wall, scattering blood and tissues everywhere. The corridor is painted in red.
After killing Zillion, the phantom retreats and smiles in satisfaction. Her HP has recovered to full.
Vesper stands there in the kitchen, applauding the cinematic scene. With Zillion, Anna, and Brad dead, all threats have been eliminated. Only Noah remains.
Looking at the blind man struggling to leave the house, Vesper feels bad for him. He stops interfering with the stage and allows the man to leave the house.
The door is no longer locked as the phantom has retreated. Noah bolts out of the house and runs in a straight line. Unfortunately, he can't see the altar and runs into the wall, trapping himself in this area.
Upon hitting the wall, Noah collapses and lies down. He wails in desperation.
"KILL ME ALREADY! I'M ALREADY BLINDED!"
Vesper silently observes the man. He has been in that situation before and knows how terrible it is to lose his eyesight. Still, Vesper believes that Noah should struggle a little.
"KIHIHIHIHIHI!"
Due to the loud noise, the remaining guardian in the garage notices Noah's presence. The crawler smashes the shutter door, trying to leave the house.
Noah hears the noise. He crawls in a random direction. Coincidentally, it happens to be the correct path toward the altar.
Upon touching the altar, Noah feels rejoiced.
"GET ME OUT OUT HERE!"
*DING*
"YES!"
Instantly, the spider lady turns into dust, and the wall array disappears. The altar sinks into the ground.
Noah collapses in the yard, panting in exhaustion. Several minutes later, the sky shoots two beams of lasers into his eyes, repairing his eyeballs and healing his wounds.
Vesper is happy for him. This guy has been going through an unlucky streak, and he deserves a break.
Meanwhile, Vesper receives a report of his performance.
Inside the house, 4 white runes, 6 green runes, 2 blue runes, 1 gold rune, and 1 hidden rune remain. In total, they are worth 286 points.
*DING*
.
Successful protection of the hidden rune = 100 Points
Guardian incapacitating a survivor (x3) = 30 Points.
Spell casting = 13 Points
Value of remaining runes in the stage after the mission divided by 5 = 57.2 Points.
Total = 200.2 Points!
S RANK!
.
.
DING
.
The score is lower than before since Vesper failed to kill Noah. Nevertheless, he receives the S Rank.
Having completed three stages in total, the tutorial is now over for Vesper. The system concludes Vesper's scores and evaluates his performance.
Vesper's cloak transforms. It now features fancy gold patterns and a golden line mark on his left chest. Additionally, a new set of black pants, shirt, and boots drops from the sky and lands in the yard.
The clothes match the gold-patterned cloak and transform them into a uniform.
Delighted, Vesper takes off his cloak and puts on the new set of clothes. He doesn't forget to return to the house and pick a pair of boxer shorts to wear under the fancy jeans.
'Priorities.'
Vesper grins, even though he is wearing someone else's underwear.
After dressing in the new uniform, he puts on the cloak and moves his arms. They fit him well.
While admiring his new attire, Vesper notices that his arms and legs are no longer thin. He tries wrapping his thumb and middle finger around his bicep, but his fingers can no longer touch each other. He can barely do it around his wrist, but not in other parts!
He is no longer a skeleton-skinny! He has muscles!
Vesper is overjoyed by the muscle growth. However, he has nobody to show off his physique to.
While Vesper is celebrating his success, the ground under him turns into quicksand. Instantly, he sinks into the ground. Noah, oblivious to Vesper and his existence, remains behind.
*DING*
.
.
Sinking into the void, Vesper feels nothing. He can't see anything either. At first, he feels at peace as if he is lying on a warm bed.
Five minutes pass by. A tingling sense of a hard wooden floor and his numb arms annoy him. He moves his arms and pushes his body, adjusting his posture. Then, he opens his eyes.
Vesper sees the ceiling of his room.
"Huh?"
Vesper sits up and looks around in confusion. Getting up, he walks toward the computer in his room. Realizing where he is, Vesper sits in his computer chair and opens his computer to check the date and time.
The computer boots up, and the monitor flash-bangs him with a bright light. The OS shows an image of Vesper and his newborn daughter sleeping in his arms.
Vesper glances at the time. It is 12:01 AM on March 10th.
The last live stream ended on March 9th at 11:55 PM!
Only 6 minutes have passed since then, but Vesper feels like he had a long dream.
"What a weird dream… Right, I need food. I need to stock up on some instant noodles…"
Vesper closes his computer and gets up. That is when he looks down and notices that he is wearing strangely comfortable clothes.
They are black clothes and the cloak that he got from the dream - The tutorial ground!
IT WASN'T A DREAM!
Vesper widens his eyes. He dashes toward the washroom. Taking three large steps forward, he kicks something hard, and he loses his balance, rolling on the ground.
Getting back up, Vesper rubs his toes and foot fingers. Fortunately, they aren't bleeding.
Looking back, Vesper notices a lustrous black chest in the middle of his room.
