In the distant past, the world was governed by the Octagram, a council of eight deities - four Lords of Order and four Chaos Lords. For millennia, they maintained balance and harmony. However, the mysterious death of a Chaos Lord disrupted the equilibrium, leaving the Chaos Lords at a disadvantage.

To restore balance, the Chaos Lords proposed an ultimatum to the Lords of Order: either one of their own must die, or they must abstain from direct interference in the mortal world. The Lords of Order, unable to sacrifice one of their own, chose the latter.

This decision led to the Age of Chaos, where darkness reigned supreme. The Dark Lands, a vast and treacherous territory, emerged, inhabited by creatures of Chaos. If left unchecked, its dark forces would spread to other lands.

For a thousand years, Chaos dominated, and the Dark Lands expanded, threatening to engulf the world. But then, a child was born, housing both Chaos and Order within them. This being, Rei Kurai, brought about a profound change in the world and the Octagram.

As Rei Kurai was born, strange occurrences happened worldwide. People manifested abilities of Chaos, Order, and other origins. The child's arrival restored balance, but human greed and hunger for power soon disrupted it.

Twelve brave individuals, later known as the Zodiacs, ventured into the Dark Lands, battling its monsters and pushing back its borders. However, the hunt for Rei Kurai, the "Child of El," began, as humans sought to exploit his unique balance for their gain.
