Chapter 16 - Cassia

Cassia and Freya had just come down from upstairs, so Leo hadn't noticed them when he walked in, and he hadn't expected to see them at this moment.

Alden's gaze fixed directly on the two females by his side when he noticed them. He hadn't expected to be so near these large, young misses.

Cassia's question surprised Leo, but it wasn't because of her beauty. Despite his initial surprise, Leo quickly composed himself and greeted them warmly.

He simply grinned and stated, "I only have basic knowledge. I just wanted to test it out. Are you also an enchanter?"

When Cassia asked that question with an "also," she revealed her identity.

Cassia showed no indications of transformation as far as Leo was aware of her identity. One could easily count on one hand the number of Stellaria City residents who didn't recognize her.

A little smile spread over her face as she responded to Leo's question, "I also only have a bit of understanding."

Freya's laughter rang like silver bells from the side. She teased Cassia, saying, "You're being too humble. Everyone knows you're the outstanding student of the Stellaria City Enchanter Guild President. How could you have such a limited understanding?"

"Compared to a real master enchanter, my bit of ability can only be called a limit of understanding." Cassia did not respond to Freya's mocking. It seems that she was born with a peaceful demeanor.

She went on to say, "You are using savage wolf blood. Are you going to draw a wild explosion rune?"

When he heard this, Leo was shocked and glanced up at her. She could see from the materials that he intended to draw. She appeared to be quite skilled.

"That's correct. Miss Cassia's eyes are incredibly acute. You are truly incredible," Leo commended.

"Nah. It's only that I recently researched the Wild Explosion Rune, which made me think of it." Cassia explained: "However, in drawing the Wild Explosion rune, the savage wolf blood is merely the major component; other materials are required to manage the liquids and the character. How come you only bought one bottle of the main ingredient?"

Cassia's statements about the enchantment process startled Leo, prompting him to reflect on his understanding. This was not the first time he'd heard it. Alden had previously stated that enchanters were required to use specific liquids to create the runes, but he was skeptical because his memories from the sword crystal clearly did not mention the necessity for any special liquids. It simply needs animal blood to function.

Cassia was an enchanter herself, and after hearing Freya's words, it appeared that Cassia was even the enchanting president's disciple. She should not have been mistaken.

After a while, Leo couldn't figure it out; his thoughts spun quickly, and then he smiled and said: "This is also my first time trying to make an enchantment scroll, and I haven't fully comprehended everything."

Leo's response caused Cassia to be speechless: "You haven't made an enchantment scroll before?"

Leo obediently shook his head in response to Cassia's question about making an enchantment scroll. "I haven't. This is the first time."

Cassia suddenly didn't know what to say. It was his first time making an enchantment scroll, and he dared to try to make the Wild Explosive rune. She really didn't know if there was something wrong with Leo's mind, if he was too confident, or if he just didn't have anywhere to spend his money.

The Wild Explosion Rune's primary material was savage wolf blood. For things with "Explosion" in their name, even some older enchanters had low chances of success. Even Cassia had not succeeded. She didn't know where Leo got his confidence that he would actually dare to directly create the Wild Explosion rune.

He wasn't someone who didn't know anything and just saw the price of the Wild Explosion rune, so he had both the materials to create an enchantment scroll himself, right? As that idea suddenly flashed through Cassia's mind, she thought of Leo's stunning swordsmanship earlier, she immediately abandoned it. A person who would use such stunning swordsmanship, how could they be so naive.

She slightly shook her head and stopped her wild guessing. Thinking about it, she pulled out a book and gave it to Leo. She said, "In this book, there is an introduction to becoming an enchanter. It also contains my personal notes. While it may not be very valuable, it might help you. Feel free to take a look."

Seeing that Cassia had pulled out her own personal copy with notes in it and was giving it to Leo. Alden's eyes became even wider. 'Brother Leo's luck with the ladies was exploding out, ah! Not only was Leo talking to one of the most beautiful women in Stellaria City, but he had also received a gift from her. If word got out, who knows how many people would be jealous to death.'

Seeing the book Cassia was handing over, Leo immediately revealed a tinge of excitement. This was good stuff. Although he had obtained some memories from the sword crystal, he still lacked a complete understanding of magic crafting. This introductory book was the most fitting for him.

He accepted it without hesitation and said, "I will gladly accept it as a sign of respect. Thank you very much, young Miss Cassia. When I finish reading it, I will definitely return it. I just don't know how to contact you then."

Cassia giggled and said: "It's not something that precious. Don't think about it too much. Um… If you succeed in creating the enchantment scroll, then you can sell it at the Golden Pavilion. At that time, just hand it to Ninth Uncle."

Hearing this, the old shopkeeper to the side smiled and said, "Young Miss, you can relax. If there's anything new, your old servant will definitely let you know."

In the midst of Leo and Cassia's conversation, the old shopkeeper, who was also the Ninth Uncle, didn't speak at all but was secretly surprised. He didn't know where Leo got to know Cassia. Even though Cassia's temperament was very gentle, as heaven's favored daughter, she naturally had higher standards. Normally, others proactively went to look for her, but when did she begin to proactively look for others to talk to? She even gave a gift. It truly was surprising. He silently judged Leo's character. To be able to cause Cassia to behave so differently, he couldn't possibly be normal.

Leo also looked toward the old shopkeeper with surprise. Even with Cassia's identity, she still had to call him the Ninth Uncle. Obviously, this old shopkeeper wasn't simply a shopkeeper. However, he didn't bother to wildly speculate.

"Then it will be as the young miss said, once I've finished reading it, whether or not I've succeeded, I'll return it." Leo said.

"In that case, then Cassia will be leaving first." Cassia politely said, Stopping here to proactively talk to a stranger like Leo was already quite a feat. In truth, she didn't know what was up with her today, whether it was that she had an interest in Leo or if it was because of his stunning swordsmanship.

"Ninth Uncle, we're leaving first, ah." Freya said to Ninth Uncle. Afterwards, she faced Leo, giggled, and said, "Your name is Leo, right? I've noticed you. My name is Freya." she said while extending her hand.

Leo's heart raced as she introduced herself. "It is a pleasure to meet you, Miss Freya." He replied, shaking her hand and smiling warmly in return, his eyes twinkling with amusement at her boldness.

"Uh… young Miss Cassia, young Miss Freya, take care…" Leo didn't know why Freya would suddenly speak at the very end; however, he tried to be courteous.

Alden on the side didn't know what to say. 'When did older brother Leo's charm become so large? Even young Miss Freya remembered him and even proactively told him her name. Geez, Stellaria City's two top beauties, ahh. Could older brother Leo be equally charming to both of them?'

Seeing Cassia and Freya off as they left, the old shopkeeper, Ninth Uncle, once again looked at Leo, and in his eyes there was a hint of strangeness: "After all these years, this is still the first time seeing Cassia put someone else in her eyes. Kid, you're really not bad.

After a pause, he asked Leo, "Do you need anything else besides these two items?"

"Umm… Add another Ethereal Soulforce Crystal and a Bone Cleansing Dan." With a bit of hesitation, Leo requested the items he needed.

Hearing this, Alden let out a relieved breath. It appeared that older brother Leo had not lost his wits. He still knew to spend the remaining money to buy dan medicines. It was just that, if it were like that, the money that Leo had just plundered from Harold would immediately be completely spent. Even their few dozen pieces of silver would all be spent.

Enchantment materials plus the two Dan medicines, in total, were worth two hundred and thirty taels of gold. Using up the two hundred twenty six taels of plundered gold, Leo also used forty of his own pieces of silver.

Taking all of the items and Cassia's gifted book, Leo said his courtesies to Ninth Uncle and then left. After a few days, he would definitely return.
