So, Sebastian and Jylan never found Lei, but they did get a letter filling them in. As soon as Sebastian read it, he sighed, tossed it away, and sat on the floor.
"What is it, My Prince?" Jylan asked, and Sebastian sighed. "Lei already knew. Stupidly, the way she found out was when it rained and Chris's face paint got washed off." Jylan thought for a minute, and then said, 'Well, isn't it better for us then?" Sebastian looked up and said, "How?" Jylan looked at him again. "Well, My Prince, it would have been a bit worse if she hadn't known, because then we could have accidentally broken them up."
They both looked at eachother, realizing, and then said, at the same time,
"And of course, we would know how painful it is to be broken up."
The next day, they continued making rugs like usual, and there wasn't much else to be said. Sebastian flipped through the pages of the book they had found again, but every page except for the one he had read was blank, for no specific reason.
"Hmm. I've heard that sometimes, people use ink that can only be revealed with lemons." Jylan mused, one day, and Sebastian raised an eyebrow. "And where will we get the said lemons, Jylan? Are you going to make lemons along with rugs?" Jylan jabbed a thumb behind him at the yellow dye. "Not exactly, but I do know that the yellow dye has some sort of lemon extract in it."
There was a large jaw of yellow dye sitting mostly unused on the shelf, since Jylan liked reds and blues more than yellow hues. Sebastian stared at the jar for a minute, and then looked back at the pages. It seemed a waste to leave them empty, but maybe they weren't empty.
"Sure, let's give it a shot," Sebastian said.
