Jylan had proudly said, a day ago, that the sun was still there.
It wasn't anymore, so he was stupid.
Everything had gone downhill from that day when Jylan and Sebastian had found eachother again. Well, actually, scratch that - things had not gone downhill, they had stayed just the same. And that was the problem. One day later, Jylan was still sitting in this suspicious metal cage. Sebastian, who had seemingly been drugged, spent most of the day peacefully sleeping, which Jylan didn't mind so much because the prince seemed like a docile cat even when he was awake.
But the problem was that he was still here. Jylan leaned his head against the cold bars. He had been trying to find a way to escape for that whole day and the last, and the best thing he had been able to come up with was breaking the floorboards and dropping out. Which had semi-worked, as he had been able to pull up a floorboard and was now looking at a space, perfect for jumping out.
But the problem was, where would they go?
Sebastian couldn't go back to his kingdom, and even though Jylan could, it would also only be a matter of time before he was forced out. Not that he needed to go back anyway - he had been throwing himself at work for about a month after Sebastian had left to distract himself, and he would now easily be gone for a year without any problems. That and the fact that he had loyal assistants.
So then, he had concluded that he would worry about that once they escaped. Now, he tapped Sebastian on the shoulder, who clearly blinked awake. Jylan smiled, holding a finger to his lips, and then pointed to the floorboards.
Soon, they snuck out together, taking turns jumping off the caravan into the night, and then hiding in the bushes before anyone saw.
And then they walked off together into the night, hand-in-hand.
