When the potion was done, Jylan sat down on the couch where Sebastian lay. He cupped his hands around the bottle in with the potion was in, not sure how to go along with what he was going to do next. When Sebastian woke up, what would he think? What would he say? What if Sebastian forgot more than just this morning?
Jylan realized that, if he thought any longer, he might convince himself not to try waking up Sebastian at all. And I can't do that to a prince, he told himself. Why was the prince such an important person, anyway?
Fingers shaking, Jylan slowly scooted closer to Sebastian, One hand holding Sebastian's face steady, he poured the potion into Sebastian's mouth. Anxiously, Jylan returned to his original spot and watched as the prince blinked awake.
As Sebastian sat up, cursing and a hand touching his forehead, Jylan caught a glimpse of the rune on his wrist flickering, and then going out.
"... Butler. Are you a stalker?" Sebastian asked, finally realizing that Jylan was there. He placed his hands down to his sides.
Jylan smiled, confused. "No, my prince.
"You sure?"
"Well, I think I ain't…?"
"THEN WHY ARE YOU WATCHING ME SLEEP, WEIRDO?!" Sebastian bellowed, but really he used a much more dirty word.
Jylan flinched, steaming and having the urge to run straight out of the cottage. He tried to explain himself. "Ah, that was because –" Realizing that he couldn't explain it, Jylan sealed his lips and looked expectantly at Sebastian.
"Do you remember anything?" Jylan asked, worried. "Wait, no. I probably shouldn't –"
"Wha –" Sebastian started.
"DON'T REPLY!" Jylan exclaimed, and he slammed a hand of Sebastian's mouth. Sebastian tried yelling something, but realizing his voice was muffled, instead spat on the butler's hand.
Jylan snapped his hand back, wiping it on the unrealizing wolf pup beside him.
"What is there to remember?!" the prince snapped, clearly annoying. He spat again to the side as to get a bitter taste off his tongue.
Jylan sighed, happy but sad at the same time. "I suppose we should get you home, then. Using the carriage this time."
"Finally!"
