Chapter 217 - Floor Boss Terminator
Seventeenth Floor
This was the floor Mahiro arrived at yesterday.
Before leaving the dungeon, he had set up a teleportation circle here.
Now, returning here was much faster.
"The seventeenth floor... This is where the floor boss resides."
After appearing on the floor, Mahiro paused for a while.
The teleportation circle he had laid out yesterday was in a relatively spacious area of the floor.
"I didn't find the floor boss yesterday."
"I hope I can find it today."
Like other monsters, the floor boss would eventually respawn after being defeated.
However, compared to regular monsters, the respawn time for a floor boss was significantly longer.
While regular monsters could respawn within a day, floor bosses or monster rex required much more time—sometimes several days, or even dozens of days, longer.
Typically, it would take at least a week for a floor boss to respawn.
The floor boss was one of Mahiro's mission objectives.

Mahiro silently glanced at the system panel before starting his search for the floor boss.
As he went deeper the floors became increasingly vast.
The seventeenth floor had relatively fewer monsters, but most of them were powerful with Level 2 strength.
Finding the floor boss here was more challenging than on earlier floors.
Fortunately, fewer mobs obstructed his path.
Mahiro advanced cautiously along a narrow, dimly lit passage.
Soon, he noticed a faint light in the distance—it was the exit.
Picking up his pace, he quickly reached the end of the passage.
At the exit, he found himself in a massive cavern resembling a grand hall.
The cavern was rectangular, stretching about 200 meters deep, over 100 meters wide, and approximately 20 meters high.
Its walls, ceiling, and floor were composed of rough, jagged rock.
However, one wall stood out.
"This must be it."
Mahiro noticed stairs on the opposite side of the cavern—leading to the eighteenth floor.
The wall was effectively blocking access to the next area.
This place was the Big Wall of Grief.
To proceed from this floor, one would either have to defeat the floor boss or find an alternative method to bypass it.
Otherwise, the only option was to retreat and explore the previous floors.
Mahiro stepped forward.
"Found it."
He spotted a massive, dark figure encased along in one of the walls.
This was undoubtedly the floor boss.
In the quiet environment, Mahiro's footsteps echoed loudly.
As he approached, the cave began to tremble.
"Crack… crack…"
A sharp, splitting sounded as a crack appeared on the wall, spreading rapidly from top to bottom.
"CRACK—!"
The noise grew louder until the wall finally shattered.
Large chunks of debris fell to the ground.
When the dust settled, Mahiro saw it.
A massive figure emerged.
"ROOOOOOOAR!!!"
The monster let out an earth-shaking roar, shaking the cavern and sending shockwaves through the air.
This was the floor boss of the seventeenth floor—Goliath.
Mahiro shielded his face from the wind stirred up by the boss's awakening.
A faint smile appeared on his face as he studied the monster rex.
"The strength is much more than the other monsters I've faced," he remarked, his eyes narrowing in anticipation.
Goliath was rated at level 4.
However, monster rex like this couldn't be compared to regular monsters of the same level.
Its overwhelming presence rivaled even a LV5 monster.
After freeing itself from the wall, Goliath fixed its eyes on Mahiro.
Without hesitation, the colossal figure charged at him.
"Now this," Mahiro's smile widened as ice began to appear in his hands, "is something worth my time."
