Chapter 54 - Actually, I Don't Know Much!

"This is my home."

Opening the door, Mahiro walked in first, took off a pair of slippers at the entrance, and handed them to Asia.

"Excuse me."

Asia once again bowed before curiously inspecting the room's furnishings.

Mahiro wondered if Asia had already learned about Japanese etiquette before coming here.

"It's such a cozy place."

After putting on the slippers, Asia followed Mahiro to the living room, looking at the simple furnishings, a warm smile appeared on her face.

"It will indeed be cozy if more than one person lives together."

Mahiro nodded and put the suitcase down.

"W-will I live in the same room with you, Mahiro-kun?"

As if thinking of something, Asia's face had a rosy blush, and even her voice stuttered.

"Live in the same room with me?"

Mahiro glanced at Asia with a half smile.

"Ah... that's... that's, not... not..."

Hearing this, Asia's face turned bright red as she waved her hands in embarrassment, almost fainting.

She kept trying to explain herself but couldn't form a complete sentence.

In the end, she lowered her head, not daring to meet Mahiro's eyes.

"Besides my bedroom, there are two empty rooms. You can choose one."

Mahiro didn't continue to tease her; otherwise, he would be in trouble if she passed out.

"I understand, Mahiro-kun."

Asia finally managed to respond.

"Here's the key to the front door. Keep it safe."

Mahiro walked to the cabinet, opened the drawer, took a key from it, and handed it to Asia.

"Thank you, Mahiro-kun. I will definitely keep it safe."

Asia held the key with her hands folded as if she were carrying a treasure, her face still blushing, with a happy smile.

"It's getting late. You should go explain the situation to your friends."

Mahiro smiled.

"I'll go buy you some daily necessities first. Or when you come back, we can go to the supermarket together."

"Will you be back by the dinner?"

"It shouldn't take long."

Asia thought for a moment and said.

Suddenly, her expression turned uneasy as she remembered something.

"Actually... I don't know where my friends are, Mahiro-kun."

"But you insisted before that you would go alone."

Asia looked even more embarrassed.

Mahiro said helplessly.

"Never mind, I'll go with you. It's late, and I'd worry if you went by yourself."

"Thanks, Mahiro-kun."

Asia was touched, releasing how fortunate she was to have met someone so caring.

"Where does your friend live?"

Mahiro asked casually.

He knew that Asia's destination was the abandoned church.

"Actually, I don't know much..."

Mahiro: "..."

Half a minute later, Asia explained the details of her 'friends' home.

"Sorry to trouble you, Mahiro-kun."

Asia said embarrassedly, her voice getting lower and lower.

"It's alright, no need to apologize. It's not a big deal."

Mahiro turned around and was about to go out.

Seeing Asia still standing there uneasily, he said, "Let's go quickly and settle things before it gets dark."

"Yes, Mahiro-kun."

Asia hurried to follow behind Mahiro.

After going out, Mahiro took a taxi.

"The taxi fare... Mahiro-kun."

After getting into the taxi, Asia felt guilty.

If she were alone, she would have just walked.

"No need to apologize. You're mine anyway! After all, there will be many expenses like this. Are you going to apologize every time?"

Mahiro smirked playfully.

"Uh-huh!"

Asia blushed and murmured.

The driver looked at them enviously through the rearview.

Oh my.

Were young couples nowadays so bold in their relationships?

And the girl was even wearing a nun's dress. This taboo romance was too much to resist.

The driver thought about his crush, who hadn't given him any attention despite his efforts, and wondered if he should change his approach.

Of course, Mahiro didn't know that his teasing remark would later lead to the driver's love interest altogether rejecting him.

If he knew, he would definitely laugh out loud.

After more than ten minutes, the taxi arrived at the destination.

After Mahiro paid the fare, he got out of the car with Asia.

In addition to the fare, Mahiro gave an extra tip to have the driver wait for a while.

After all, this was a remote area, and there likely wouldn't be any taxis passing by.

The church was located halfway up the mountain, so they could only reach it on foot.

At this moment, it was already evening, and the sunset was as red as blood.

Even at the foot of the mountain, looking up at the church, he could feel an ominous atmosphere.

"You can leave me here, Mahiro-kun."

"I'll go up by myself."

After getting out of the taxi, Asia's tone was surprisingly firm.

"Okay."

Mahiro didn't refuse; instead, he followed Asia directly down the path after she walked.
