Chapter 49 - A Honey Trap!?

Chapter 49 - A Honey Trap!?

"Ring ring! Ring ring!"

"Urgh..! stop already!"

When the alarm clock finally fell silent, Mahiro opened his eyes as his consciousness gradually awakened.

Staring at the familiar ceiling, he realized that the training camp was over, and he was no longer in the mansion but back in his home.

Last night, when he got home, Mahiro took the opportunity to visit Issei's house and erase all of Issei's memories of him.

"It feels lonely to be here!"

Mahiro chuckled softly.

It seemed the charm of Rias, and the others were extreme.

After just two or three days, he felt at ease around them and desired to continue being with them.

"I'm not someone who enjoys peace."

Mahiro shook his head and prepared to get up for school.

"Mahiro-kun, are you awake? Hurry up, take a shower!"

A gentle and familiar voice called out from outside the room.

"Got it."

Mahiro responded.

The next moment, he suddenly came to his senses.

"What's going on?"

Mahiro stared at the door and wondered if he was still in the mansion.

However, the familiar, simple room convinced him he was at home.

Mahiro quickly dressed up, opened the door, and walked out.

"Akeno, why are you in my house?"

Mahiro asked, looking curiously at Akeno, who was busy in the kitchen.

As expected, he had recognized her voice correctly.

"Hurry up, take a shower; breakfast is ready."

Akeno, with her long ponytail and an apron, exuded the aura of a married wife.

Her demeanor looked gentle, like a newlywed urging her husband.

"You haven't answered my question yet."

This side of Akeno was undeniably attractive, and even he couldn't deny it.

But Remembering yesterday's events, Mahiro couldn't help but twitch.

Akeno and Rias had fought more fiercely than ever, nearly destroying the training ground.

It was hard to imagine that the girl who had fought so hard with Rias could be so gentle now.

"I want to take care of Mahiro-kun's life."

Suddenly, Akeno crossed her arms, looking aggrieved, and gazed at Mahiro pitifully.

"Could it be that Mahiro-kun doesn't like a beautiful girl taking care of his life?"

"..."

Mahiro thought Akeno was a master at switching personas effortlessly.

At this moment, with her pitiful expression, few could resist her charm.

"A honey trap?"

Mahiro looked at Akeno suspiciously.

Under normal circumstances, she wouldn't act wrong over a simple question.

This felt strange.

In fact, since yesterday, Akeno has been acting a bit off.

"Did Rias send you here!?"

Mahiro subconsciously suspected that she and Rias were plotting something.

After all, Mahiro knew well that, in their eyes, he was quite desirable.

"Does Mahiro-kun think that?"

Akeno's expression shifted from grievance to dissatisfaction.

"Unfortunately, Mahiro-kun, you guessed wrong this time. This is my own decision."

Mahiro remained calm and unmoved.

"Didn't I say yesterday? I don't want to let Mahiro-kun go, so it's necessary to do something to please you."

Akeno blinked and looked at Mahiro coyly, making it hard to discern whether her words were true.

"Never mind."

Mahiro waved his hand, not intending to pursue the matter further.

He was enjoying it anyway.

Just let it be.

"By the way, how did you get in?"

As soon as he asked, Mahiro realized it was a silly question.

How could a regular door stop a High-Class Devil?

"I used a little trick, just a small one."

Akeno gave a rare, shy smile.

'She must have opened the door with magic.'

"There's a spare key in the third drawer of that cabinet."

"You can use that next time."

Mahiro pointed to a cabinet beside the TV.

"Is it for me?"

Akeno suddenly showed a happy smile.

"By the way, can I ask you a question, Mahiro-kun?"

"Go ahead."

Mahiro nodded.

"Am I the first girl to come to your house?"

Akeno looked at Mahiro expectantly.

"Yes."

Mahiro did not deny it.

Hearing this, Akeno smiled even more and then said energetically,

"Yay, I can now have Mahiro-kun by myself!"

Mahiro's mouth twitched.

It felt like the hostess was declaring her territory.

"Okay, let's not talk about it. Go wash up; breakfast is getting cold."

Akeno urged with a beautiful smile.

Mahiro glanced at the dining table.

A simple breakfast was laid out, and an aroma filled the air, making him hungry.

He then turned around and entered the bathroom.

On the sink, a toothbrush with toothpaste was already placed.

Seeing this, Mahiro couldn't help but feel emotional.

Although he had been upset earlier about Akeno breaking into his house unannounced, it didn't seem so bad now.

After washing up, Mahiro sat at the table and began eating breakfast.

"Aren't you going to eat?"

Mahiro asked, looking at Akeno beside him.

"I already ate before I came."

Akeno shook her head and returned to the kitchen to prepare bento for him.

More than ten minutes later, the two finished packing and headed to Kuoh Academy together.

At the entrance of the school building, Mahiro and Akeno parted ways, returning to their respective classes.

Perhaps due to last week's events, the students of Kuoh Academy had gotten used to Mahiro and Akeno going to school together and were not particularly surprised.

As usual, the morning passed quickly without any incidents.

Mahiro originally planned to rest after eating his bento in the classroom.

But Koneko insisted he go to the Occult Research Club with her.

Mahiro didn't refuse and readily agreed.

After arriving at the Occult Research Club's clubroom, Mahiro found a place to sit.

As he took out his bento to eat, he felt an unexpected gaze on him.

Mahiro turned his head to meet Koneko's gaze.

"Do you want some?"

Mahiro thought Koneko was eyeing his food; after all, he had a lot of bento today.

"Why does your bento look the same as Akeno-senpai's?"

Koneko asked with a deadpan but curious expression.
