Chapter 45 - If Only I'm As Powerful As My Brother!
Mahiro's eyes were fixed on the girl.
There was a red aura surrounding her. Probably - P.O.D, Rias' Hereditary ability.
Mahiro found it very odd.
'What was she doing at the training ground?'
'Let's see.'
His sleepiness vanished, and Mahiro decided to see what was going on.
He jumped down from the window and headed straight towards the training ground.
After a while, Mahiro arrived at the edge of the training ground.
A girl with bright red hair stood in the center, wrapped in demonic power, her hair fluttering without wind.
In her hands, a torrent of the P.O.D surged under her control.
Rias was engrossed, carefully manipulating P.O.D, trying to make it docile.
However, the process seemed somewhat tricky. The demonic power was turbulent and hard to control.
Even with Rias' best efforts.
She could only control it a little.
Sweat was drenching on her forehead and nose, making Rias looked flush.
Tap—!
Suddenly, the sound of a stone being stepped on resounded in the quiet night.
"Who?"
Rias turned abruptly, and the demonic power she was controlling collapsed.
She looked in the direction from which the sound came.
A teenager in pajamas stood at the edge of the training ground, smiling at her.
"Rias, why are you here?"
Seeing him, Rias felt relieved.
She looked at Mahiro weirdly and asked, "I should ask you this. What are you doing at the training ground?"
Mahiro moved closer and said jokingly, "I couldn't sleep, and I saw a red light here, so I came to check it out."
Rias laughed dryly and explained.
"I thought about improving my strength, so I came here to train."
"I didn't expect you to be so diligent, Rias."
Mahiro said with some playfulness.
"Anyway, I had nothing else to do."
Rias panicked, but she maintained her elegant demeanour.
"Really?"
Mahiro smiled irrefutably, staring at Rias's face carefully.
"But why do I feel like you have something on your mind?"
Although Rias was exercising her demonic power, there was an indelible trace of sadness between her brows that Mahiro noticed at a glance.
Rias was stunned and smirked, "Is it that obvious?"
"It's all written on your face. If I couldn't see it, I should donate my eyes."
Mahiro said jokingly.
"Sorry for worrying you."
Rias said apologetically.
"You're my friend; no need to apologize for this."
Mahiro shook his head and said, "However, if you don't mind, you might as well speak."
"Maybe there will be a solution."
'A friend.'
Rias was stunned.
"Thank you."
Rias suddenly bowed sincerely to Mahiro.
"So serious, Rias."
Mahiro said teasingly.
"I'm really happy that you can call me a friend."
Rias showed a pretty smile, obviously she was in a good mood.
"It's just not a big deal. I don't want to trouble you."
"Forget it. Since you don't want to say anything, I won't force you."
"But remember that you are my friend. If you need anything, you can speak directly."
"Don't hide it. As long as I can help you, I will help."
Mahiro waved his hand and then looked at Rias seriously.
Rias is a proud person; Mahiro could feel it from the anime and their interactions.
Proud people often don't easily ask for help.
"I won't."
Rias's voice was gentle, and she shook her head.
"Well, that's fine. Since everything is okay, I'll go back. Don't practice too late, or you'll have no energy tomorrow."
"Got it."
Rias sighed and looked timidly at Mahiro
It seems the relationship between them had become much closer without knowing it.
Seeing Mahiro's back as he left, Rias unconsciously revealed a genuine smile.
She shook her head, still feeling a sense of reluctance and an urge to have Mahiro stay and train with her.
Rias laughed, throwing this strange thought out of her mind.
She then devoted herself to the manipulation of demonic power.
"The Power of Destruction is powerful but too violent to control. Now I can't do fine manipulation like Akeno."
Rias was very aware of her strengths and weaknesses.
"Every time I use the Power of Destruction, a large part of demonic power is wasted, and only a small part plays its due role."
"If I can raise my control over it to a higher level, maybe..."
Rias gritted her teeth with a determined look on her face.
Rias rarely trained. Not only was it exhausting, but her improvement was also very low.
However, today she felt a sudden drive.
And the reason for this was Mahiro's sudden display of powers, which disrupted her plans.
Of course, this was just an incentive.
The main reason was the engagement that bound Rias.
This engagement was like a mountain pressing down on her, making her feel suffocated.
Rias had always wanted to get rid of this.
But the hope was too slim. However, she never gave up.
'If only I'm as powerful as my brother..'
Rias's expression dropped, looking miserable, but she started practicing again.
