Chapter 177 - So, You're Making Your Move, huh?

'Which Familia to join?'

Mahiro pondered for a while—he hadn't given it much thought.

"I haven't decided yet. After all, it's my first day in Orario, and I'm not particularly familiar with the familias here."

"I'll take some time tomorrow to look into it," Mahiro replied.

Unlike ordinary adventurers, Mahiro didn't have stringent requirements for the familia he would join.

Regular adventurers needed falna to gain power, but Mahiro already possessed immense strength.

Even without using booster gear, he he could take on a first class adventurer with ease.

Of course, this judgment was based on what he had seen in the anime rather than firsthand experience.

All Mahiro needed was a falna to officially join a familia.

When it came to dungeon exploration, he could easily act alone.

A familia with stricter rules might hinder his plans, so his ideal choice was one with more lenient policies.

At that thought, an image of a certain goddess surfaced in Mahiro's mind.

'I wonder if Hestia has formed her familia yet...' he mused internally.

For Hestia, Mahiro harbored an undeniable interest.

However, if her familia had already been formed, that would mean Bell had also entered the picture.

In that case, there would be no reason for him to join her.

"Mahiro, have you heard of the Freya Familia?" Syr asked, looking at him expectantly.

"I've heard a little about it. Isn't it one of the strongest familias in Orario?" Mahiro nodded.

The Freya Familia wasn't just famous in Orario—it was renowned throughout the world.

"Mahiro, if you're a rookie, joining a powerful familia like Freya's would make things much easier."

"I heard they're recruiting new members right now," Syr said, leaning closer and whispering into Mahiro's ear.

With Syr so close, Mahiro could feel her breath and catch the faint scent of her fragrance.

Despite her constant handling of food and work in the tavern, she carried no trace of oil or smoke—just a subtle, alluring aroma.

'So, you're making your move, huh?'

Mahiro resisted the urge to roll his eyes.

Syr's suggestion confirmed what he had suspected—Freya had taken an interest in him.

"Ha, why would a familia like Freya's accept someone like me? I'm just a rookie," Mahiro said with a modest smile.

Freya's reputation was far from spotless.

While he didn't mind casual encounters with her familia members, anything deeper seemed too risky.

"No!" Syr's face was close to his again, her gaze serious.

"Mahiro, I believe you have great potential. You'll definitely become a powerful adventurer."

"You're too close, Syr," Mahiro said with a smile.

"Sorry," Syr murmured, stepping back with a faint blush.

"But seriously, Mahiro, don't underestimate yourself!"

"I won't," Mahiro replied with a nod.

"I still plan to research the different familias tomorrow. If Freya's seems like a good fit, I might apply."

"Alright," Syr said, stepping back and smiling softly.

She realized she'd spoken more than usual for a new acquaintance and decided not to press further.

"Thanks for your concern, Syr," Mahiro said warmly.

"By the way, Mahiro, you mentioned earlier that you haven't found a place to stay, right?" Syr asked.

"Yeah. Do you know where I can find a nearby inn?" Mahiro replied.

"I do. It's very close," Syr said with a playful blink.

"It's right here at the Hostess of Fertility."

"Here?" Mahiro looked surprised.

"Yes," Syr said.

"The first floor serves as a tavern, and the second floor is used as an inn."

"Looks like I'm in luck," Mahiro said with a smile.

"On my first day in Orario, I not only made a friend like you, Syr, but I also found a place to stay without running around."

Syr's eyes curved in delight as she smiled at his words.

As the night wore on, adventurers left one by one, and the tavern grew quieter.

Syr eventually approached the bar.

"Mia, My friend is staying on the second floor tonight. Can you prepare a room for him?" she asked.

Mia pulled a key from the drawer and handed it to Syr.

"Here, take him to the room."

"Mahiro, follow me," Syr said, taking the key and leading him upstairs.

The room was simply furnished—a bed, a small round table in the center, and a few tea cups on the table.

"Good night, Mahiro," Syr said sweetly, handing him the key before heading off.

Mahiro sat down, briefly checked his phone for some details, and quickly fell asleep.

The Next Morning...

After breakfast, Mahiro said goodbye to Syr and headed to the guild.

The Guild, also known as the Adventurer's Guild, was a vital institution in Orario.

It managed the city's familias and adventurers.

Without a centralized government, Orario relied on the guild to maintain order.

In its early days, before the guild was formed, the city was in chaos.

Powerful familias acted recklessly, causing disaster for weaker ones and commoners.

The guild's establishment brought much-needed balance, stabilizing the city and easing tensions between rival gods and familias.
