Chapter 152 - Revenge

Chapter 152 - Revenge

"Remember your name?"

"Jewish names are so hard to remember; I can't even recall yours," Valper said regretfully.

"I am a survivor of the Holy Sword Project, Isaiah."

Yuuto's eyes were as cold as ice.

He glared at Valper, approaching step by step, his aura radiating with endless killing intent.

"Today, I will avenge the innocent souls who died at your hands, and the friends who sacrificed themselves to help me escape!"

As soon as the words left his mouth, Yuuto rushed forward, the ground beneath his feet cracking under the force of his movement.

As a knight, Yuuto was known for his light and agile fighting style, but the way he shattered the ground showed the depth of his anger and hatred.

"Forget about the fusion of the Holy Sword, the data has been collected. It can be completed at any time," Valper muttered, unable to contain the fear in his heart as Yuuto charged toward him.

He stumbled back, heading toward the church.

"Die!"

Yuuto closed the distance in an instant, swinging his sword in rage.

His sword came down on Valper, aiming to strike 15 times in quick succession.

"Ah!"

Valper cried out in pain as the sword slashed across him, bright red blood splattering from the wounds.

Although Yuuto's demonic sword struck Valper, it didn't land in a fatal spot.

Valper, though merely a researcher, had spent enough time among supernatural creatures to possess some strength.

Though his power was insufficient to fight any supernatural beings, it was enough to narrowly save him from an immediate death.

"Get out here and defend me! Forget about the Holy Sword fusion and grab the sword—block him for me!" Valper screamed in terror as he called toward the church.

"I'll make you pay, Valper Galilei!"

Yuuto didn't relent.

One missed strike wouldn't stop him as he pursued Valper again.

Suddenly, three figures burst out from inside the church, blocking Yuuto's offensive.

Their Holy Swords clashed with Yuuto's demonic sword, sending sparks flying.

"Yes, that's it! Keep him away from me!" Valper, seeing the stray priests rush out to his aid, smiled with relief.

"Oh? You managed to gather this many stray priests?" Mahiro observed with mild surprise.

In the anime, Valper's subordinate was only Freed, but Mahiro had killed Freed before.

"Get out of my way!"

Yuuto swung his sword furiously, forcing one of the stray priests back as he continued to slash toward Valper.

The three stray priests holding Holy Swords surrounded Yuuto, blocking his path.

Individually, their strength was no match for Yuuto, but together, they began to suppress him.

"Need help?" Mahiro asked from above, looking down.

"This is my own battle. I will end this hatred with my own hands."

Yuuto, though blocked by the three, regained his composure.

He stepped out of the encirclement, rejecting Mahiro's offer.

"Alright."

Mahiro nodded.

Although he could have easily defeated the stray priests, since Yuuto wanted to handle it himself, he saw no need to interfere.

Hearing Mahiro's words, Valper exhaled in relief.

He had been worried Mahiro might step in, but since he wouldn't, Valper still had a chance to escape.

With this in mind, Valper, staggering from his wound, planned to continue his escape while Yuuto was distracted.

"You should stay right where you are." Mahiro's gaze fell coldly on Valper, freezing him in place.

"Yuuto wants to deal with you himself, but if you don't behave, I'll gladly beat you within an inch of your life and leave him to finish the job."

Hearing this, Valper despaired.

He had hoped Mahiro would ignore him, but the situation had backfired.

Mahiro wasn't intervening directly, but he had no intention of letting Valper escape.

Valper knew there was no way he could get away from Mahiro's hands.

This man was far more terrifying than any Devil or Fallen Angel.

Cursing silently, Valper couldn't understand why such a powerful being as the Red Dragon Emperor would bother with him.

What did he, a mere researcher, matter in the grand scheme of things?

Mahiro wasn't interested in NPCs—his purpose was to eliminate all threats.

Even if Yuuto hadn't shown up, Mahiro had no intention of letting Valper escape.

"Thank you," Yuuto said gratefully before fully focusing on his fight again.

Mahiro turned his attention away from Valper and toward where Kokabiel lay.

Kokabiel's presence was still faint but lingering, with signs of recovery.

"As expected of an old timer. Even after all that, he's still able to heal," Mahiro mused.

If it had been anyone else, after receiving such a blow, they would be in far worse condition.

Mahiro decided to finish Kokabiel off before he had a chance to recover fully.

Suddenly, a huge magic circle appeared nearby, along with it Rias and her peerage appear.

"Darling!"

Rias quickly spotted Mahiro above and Yuuto fighting the stray priests.

"Where's Kokabiel? I'm starving for a fight!" Jeanne, carrying her Holy Sword, stepped out from the magic circle, her face flushed with excitement.

"Over there," Mahiro pointed in Kokabiel's direction.

"He's barely alive, but feel free to finish him off."
