It was as if the world paused as if holding its breath for the fight that was coming as the two vampires stared at each other.
Lisa stood, her arms crossed as she blocked the door. "Going somewhere, City Lord?" She smirked.
James gritted his teeth as he stared at her. He should've expected this.
He'd grown confident. Too confident.
He'd thought the secret of his basement was well hidden. After all, only three people still alive knew about it. Him, Anya and Nicodemus.
He hadn't told anyone else. Nicodemus clearly wasn't in a state to tell anyone and anybody he could've told had been killed after being framed as Veilbreakers.
The only person left was Anya and he'd been sure she hadn't told them. Not yet, if what he had seen when he'd confronted her had been any indication.
