Ezra woke up in a place that was both familiar and unsettlingly strange. The ceiling above him, the faint smell of mildew in the air, the dim light filtering through the cracked blinds.
It all brought back memories of a time he thought he had left behind. With a supreme effort, he raised himself to a sitting position, every movement sending waves of pain through his body.
