After finishing Lunch, the two ladies were on their way to go back to work, unfortunately summer heat wasn't an excuse to skip on work, or maybe there are some exceptions at least for the CEO of a company, no matter how small the company is. That CEO in question was the owner of a construction company, the Suta Company, it was owned and founded by Subaru Tanka himself, the offices' company were located on the second floor of a small building in tokyo. That day Subaru was about to move the last boxes from his office to the new headquarters of the Suta company, that's right the company became a success after only 4 years in the market, in addition to some partnership from right to left their popularity skyrocketed, all thanks to that one partnership with that one company, NovaTech, an enterprises that just like the Suta company now, needed to expand their offices from a one floor office in a small building, to an entire building of 3 floors. NovaTech was rejected by many construction companies' because of how audacious and complicated their request was, nobody wanted to work on a such problematic and old building, mostly if the price of the renovations weren't that high. Most of the companies that refused to take on this project were not as desperate as Subaru's company was at that time, that's why the Suta company had no choice but to accept their offer. The small number of employees at the time felt like they hit rock bottom, 2 years in the market and that was the best partnership that they could get. "I am as unlucky as it gets" Subaru whispered as he was sitting on his desk working on the different plans that he reviewed with the CEO of NovaTech. "What are you talking about?" Hotaru asked as she was reading one of her textbooks, at that time she was still in college, and Subaru was struggling to make a living with his company.
"I accepted a project that all the constructions company refused, the reality of what they want is far from the reality itself. The structure of the building isn't the best and I don't necessarily have the right contacts to furnish the building with the technology that they want, man it is such hassle
"But?" she asked as she stood up from the wooden balcony of the Subaru's room, Subaru was still living in his parents' house, and that idea kind of saddened him whenever he would think that Hotaru would graduate next year, and he still couldn't afford rent or even half of it so they would live together like any young couple of their age "But that's all I managed to obtain, pitiful," he muttered inwardly. Despair began to grip his eyes, dimming their lights until the gentle touch of someone's finger under his chin raised his head, allowing his gaze to meet the owner of the delicate yet firm touch.
"The man that I love is everything but pathetic, his eyes can perceive what the world can't" she confirmed before getting closer
"Those eyes of yours saw an opportunity within those shambles, and that's exactly what it is, you can either do as they asked, or do better, what you have to offer is better, your ideas, energy and power are more than enough to take on such challenges" She added. The strength of those words, the warmth of those hands was enough to rescue his soul from any kind of despair.
Suddenly a smirked was drown all over his face, he then proceeded to speak
"Well, I don't know about this project, but I do know that I was able to see in you the lighter of my own light, I 'll make it work I promise" he added before caressing her cheek and grabbed her arm so that his lips could meet hers.
After this little speech the CEO was able to go back to work, he was able to pull off something that made NovaTech reconsider their expectations, which allowed him to surprise them with a better idea that made sensation in the industry, from this success other companies started reaching out for them, which allowed them to become stable and finally give Subaru the opportunity to earn a salary. From that day Subaru knew for certain that she was the one, and he couldn't imagine his life without anyone else. It is also since that day that he started asking himself more and more questions, who is this man that she wrote about in her Diaries? Who is that Gin ? He couldn't bury the thought that he wasn't some old acquaintance or an old crush that she's moved on from, or maybe just a fictional character.
The person concerned had no idea that her boyfriend was obsessing over it, she herself wasn't thinking about it at all, she was still at work working on the rest of the project, as focused as she could, suddenly her phone rang, it was 5 p.m and her boyfriend messaged her a picture of a festival that would be held in a familiar village that she used to visit every summer.
The picture was then followed by this message: "I talked to my cousin, and she said that she could lend us her villa for two weeks, in addition to the festival we are going to be able to relax far away from the city, what do you think?" Hotaru replied saying that she was fond of the idea, even though all she could recall from that village was that forest nearby. Certain of the value of those memories and the fact that the past is the past, she didn't see any reason to hesitate, she also thought that Subaru deserved and needed such a break after working nonstop and under a lot of pressure to make the company work.
