Chapter 1.
Ana mendes is an ambitious intern, dreaming of a career in the art world while trying to impress her demanding boss, Claire. Because of the expensive cost of living in New York, Ana currently lives with her sister Vivan and vivan's boyfriend Ronnie, who has been urging her to move out.
Ronnie: Hey Ana, when are you going to get yourself an apartment here, seriously I can't deal with you been here with us, you said you only wanted to stay here for 3 weeks now it's been 2 good months.
 Vivan: sushhh ronnie, don't talk to my sister like that, she's part of the familyÂ
Ronnie: why won't i talk like that honey, she came all the way from Florida to work here in New York and for the past 2 months she has been here, because of her we couldn't get a dog, we can't even do what normal couples do because of her presence here, it's really so exhausting.
Ana : you know what ronnie, it's enough as soon as I get promoted at work I'm going to move out of here and get a nice apartmentÂ
Ronnie: And if you don't get promoted, just go back to Florida and join the navyÂ
Ana: omg, you know what I'm sick and tired of you telling me to go join the navy, Let me tell you what, today is going to be a great day for me because if I enter today's auction, I promise you my life is going to change for the better.Â
Ronnie:Â And if you don't, go back and join the Navy.
Ana : (gushes out of frustration) I'm off to work
Ana in her mind-thoughts
I've been struggling all my life to find myself in a better place so that I can live a good life and able to afford things that I want, wait hold on how much do I have in my bank account⌠oops just $50 , how am I supposed to get an apartment with this, I just hope things will change for the better.
Ana: hey amy( Ana's friend at work)
Amy: Ana, why are so late? Do you want Claire to give you query on why you're lateÂ
Ana: I just had some issues to deal with at home with my sister's boyfriend, Amy can I crash at your place later tonight pleaseÂ
Amy: oh I'm sorry I have plans later tonightÂ
Ana : it's fine, let's go to the office before Claire sees us and start screamingÂ
Amy: wait, hold on what's this stain at the back of your shirtÂ
Ana : holy shit, it must have been from the train, Claire must not see this or else she won't allow me go in for the auction, let's go to the bathroom to wash it off.
 Before the auction beginsÂ
Claire: Good morning everyone, I hope y'all know that today is a great day for us and I want today's auction to be perfect. So i want to check everyone's appearance, you( pointing at Ana) you will be among those who will be entering for the auction, now move into the the auction room.
Claire: Hold on Ana, what's that stain at the back of your dress?, you can't enter the auction room and i don't want to see you near the auction, is that clear?
Ana : ( with her face full of sadness) yes Claire.
 While Ana was at her desk, she was checking all the paint that was meant to be used at the auction, she then noticed that there has been a mislabeled catalog in the type of paint usedÂ
Ana: omg Amy, there's a typo in the auction's catalog mislabeling in the type of paint used on the piece that's about to be sold, I need to inform Claire about this .
 Ana entered the auction room
Suzette: And what are you doing here?
Ana : uhmmm suzette, I need to see Claire and talk to her about the typo on the piece that's about to be soldÂ
Claire: Didn't I tell you I don't want to see you here
Ana: I'm so sorry Claire but I need to tell you about the typo on the piece you're about to sell outÂ
Claire: oh I see
 Claire moved then whisper to the man in charge of the auction to correct the mistake.
Claire: Now that the auction is over, who among you wants to ruin my years of hard work
(Â Everyone kept quiet...)
Claire: Ana, you did a very good job today. Keep it up!
Ana with excitement on her face, because Claire isn't the boss who compliment you over a well-done job
Ana : Amy, common let's hit the club, this calls for celebration.
