"Amaya, I'm sorry to tell you this, but you were never pregnant," she said.
I felt my stomach drop, and I could feel Amaya grip on my hand loosen.
"What do you mean? That's impossible!" I exclaimed.
"I can't lose my child!!" Amaya exclaimed as she looked like she would get crazy anytime soon.
"Amaya at least let's give the doctor a chance to explain," I said to her but she seemed more furious than ever, I have never seen her this way before.
The doctor explained that the symptoms Amaya had been experiencing were most likely due to a hormonal imbalance. She gave us some medication to help regulate Amaya hormones and suggested that we visit a fertility specialist if we wanted to have a child in the future.
