Chereads / Demon Lord Wants To Escape / Chapter 30 - The Dark Brotherhood Is At Your Service

Chapter 30 - The Dark Brotherhood Is At Your Service

At nightfall, everyone after dinner chatted in the inner courtyard. When they gathered there to watch some of Anna's magic items, Barbara's expression suddenly changed.

"How dare do you a little thief to play stealth in front of me!" Succubus girl flashed the dagger in her hand and threw it directly towards a empty place!

Pfft! A deep voice sounded, and a person dressed in black appeared in front of everyone, with a dagger stuck in his arm, but no blood flowed out.

"Eh?" Barbara was a little confused: "Aren't you that one who receive me yesterday."

"It's me, Miss Barbara."

"Huh?" Lance's heart moved slightly and then he understood. He hit her on the head: "You want to show your strength at the first time, but make another mistake!"

She covered her head and pouted: "Professional instinct, boss."

"It doesn't matter." The figure lowered his arm, and everyone saw that it was the cheek of a human woman: "Your escort is very vigilant, Your Highness."

"Um..." He looked at the new woman from the Dark Brotherhood, but his eyes were fixed on her arm, which had a bright dagger stuck in it. "Why don't you pull it out and treat the wound?"

"The smell of blood will alert the saint-level master in your mansion." The woman's expression was calm: "We don't like to cause trouble. This is what you want. The Dark Brotherhood is at your service."

She took out a small bracelet from her sleeve and threw it to Lance. The bracelet was inlaid with a gem that seemed to be less than a carat. "The information is all there, please pay the commission."

Lance took out one bag of gold coins and threw it over. He looked at the storing bracelet, "Wait a moment, I will take out the things first."

"No need, Your Highness. The space bracelet is a gift from the Brotherhood." The woman weighed the gold coin bag and said, "One is missing, Your Highness."

"Sorry, sorry." Lance said suddenly, and then threw another gold coin over: "I took one directly from it when I was giving a reward today. I forgot about it."

"No problem." She nodded and said without changing her expression: "There is a calling stone in the bracelet. If you still need us, you can use it to contact me. It can be used in the same way as the bracelet, just injecting elements energy. By the way, you can call me NO.9. i'm your liaison from now on."

With that said, NO.9 disappeared into the darkness.

"Wait." Lance quickly stopped her.

"Do you need anything else, Your Highness?"

"Are you human?"

"It's obvious, isn't it?"

"Then about this space bracelet." He raised the bracelet with caution: "This bracelet is worth several thousand gold coins, right? Why do you want to give me this thing?"

She said directly: "Because this will not be the last time we cooperate with you, Your Highness. The Dark Brotherhood will provide certain help to potential high-quality customers, or in other words, benefits."

After saying that, she disappeared directly from everyone's eyes.

"Hey!" Barbara shouted directly: "Why does this person just leave!"

Lance glanced sideways at her: "Do you want her to sit down and have  tea with you?"

"No!" Barbara said anxiously, "My dagger is still stuck in her arm!"

Lance: "..."

Anna: "..."

Lance decided not to pay attention to this funny succubus. This Dark Brotherhood did have some abilities as Barbara said. Besides... from the fact that a human could be specially sent here in the Second Demon Capital, it could be known that this organization has some intriguing things.

But these were not what he should consider now. Green energy lit up on his fingertips, but he was stunned for a moment after this power lit up.

Usually when he use demon energy, he will feel a sense of emptiness in my body, just like the Kenja Time. But now he actually felt...how to describe it, he felt like he still had some stock. This should be the effect of his increased intelligence!

Lance once again saw the hope of learning magic! But he knew that now was not the time to think about this. Demon energy flowed into the bracelet, and then he saw a space of about three cubic meters. A square cabinet stood this  space. As he thought, this cabinet suddenly appeared in the courtyard.

"How kind they are!" Lance looked at the notes posted on the outside of several large compartments of the cabinet and couldn't help but praised: "This is a great job."

The cabinet was roughly divided into four compartments, and there was a note on the door of each compartment. The four notes were nobles, businessmen, civilians and masters.

"Why are civilians here?" Anna opened the compartment noted civilian in confusion. There were piles of papers inside, with some classified as actors, which should be some actors from the circus or theater in the capital, and some classified as positions, which should be some civil servants without a title. There were also some classified as rats, which were the black areas of the royal capital.

Lance opened others. Except for the master's one, the information was very detailed! He took out a few and read them, finding that most of them were gossip.

A viscount married another wife. Two barons were suspected of having an affair with each other. The earl seemed to have some special hobby, who always stayed in the stable all night...

He flipped through and most of it was rubbish or even rumored information. There was even a story about the second prince spending a lot of money to buy a magic scroll.

Anna looked at them and said with a wry smile: "What is the use of these things?"

Barbara's head hurt when she saw it: "Should it be sold for 100 gold coins? Give me enough time, I can make it up in a day. Your Highness, I think you can think that you spent 100 gold coins for a storing bracelet."

"Then I get benefits too." Lance smiled nonchalantly. For him, this was something he had really wanted, even though most of these were rumors with horribly low credibility. If it was really something important, it would be impossible for those people to sell it so cheaply.

Anna shook her head: "Your plan...may be failed."

"This is something that have been expected a long time ago." He directly skipped the news about noble and took out a pile of information on the merchant area and said to himself: "Among the thousands of information, it's  enough if there are more than a dozen that match ours demand."

Lance, who was looking through the information, was suddenly startled, and then laughed: "Look, I found one now."

A piece of paper was pulled out, and it contained a piece of gossip: "Some serfs sold by the President of the Monitor Lizard Chamber of Commerce are suspected to be freedmen."

Barbara glanced at it and curled her lips: "What's so strange about this? Which aristocratic territory hasn't happened this thing??"

"But this matter is indeed different from a common matter." He smiled and said: "What we are looking for is not something big, but something different from the public perception. As long as we check, we can find out some interesting things. Few of these chambers of commerce and nobles are clean."

Barbara was stilll confused.

"Go and investigate what's going on." Lance threw the piece of paper to her: "With your ability, it should be fine, right?"

She took a look and then curled her lips again: "It's just a small chamber of commerce. I can give you a report tonight. Wait for me!"

As a result, Lance waited until very late and Barbara didn't come back. Anna sat in the living room and dozed off, and Lance couldn't hold on any longer. Sure enough, this succubus was as unreliable as her faith.

"Go back and rest." Lance stretched and stood up: "That girl probably won't be able to come back tonight."

Anna was sleepy, but still heard what he said. She said worriedly: "Is something going to happen to Barbara?"

"You underestimate her too much." Lance said without caring, "She is very powerful."

He had seen her ability to sneak into his bedroom without alerting Sebastian. Moreover, since this succubus dared to do so, she definitely didn't want to die here. So in theory, she should have some skills to escape from a saint-level master.

So Lance was not worried about her at all. He thought that she might think that she had boasted herself and would be too embarrassed to come back without any gain.

"Really?" Anna was still a little worried: "Is it okay?"

"Don't worry." Lance stood up and yawned: "If you are reallly worried, you can continue to wait here."

With that said, he left directly. Anna thought for a while, and finally had no choice but to go back to sleep.
