Audrey was quiet the whole ride back to the Grey Blood Pack. She kept thinking about what she had just learned about Mr. Russell and she couldn't bring herself to believe that the always-cheerful boss she'd known for a long time could be so inhumane.
A thought suddenly popped into her head and she turned her head toward Alpha Lake. Thinking about it, she concluded that Mr. Russell was even merciful compared to what Alpha Lake did to her as a little girl without a wolf.
"What's the matter?" Alpha Lake asked.
He had noticed Audrey staring at him for some time and decided to ask her if everything was alright.
"Nothing," Audrey replied and faced the window.
"We're here, Alpha," Henry announced as he rolled the car to a stop in front of the Packhouse.
Philip quickly went out to open the door for Alpha Lake, bowing his head as the Alpha came out from the car.
