"My name is Ryosuke Aoyama. You'll address me as Aoyama-sensei. I'm into literary works like poetry collections and books. I detest unhealthy food, and my aspiration is to contribute my strength to the village in as many ways as possible."
"Today marks the first day of our class, and we won't delve into specific contents just yet. Let's start by getting acquainted with one another. You can address each other by name. Please introduce yourselves, following how I just introduced myself. Who'd like to go first?"
That felt eerily similar to how Team 7's introductions went at the start of the anime.
As Mr. Aoyama's words trailed off, a young boy in a blue T-shirt seated at the center of the classroom seized the opportunity, speaking before most of the students had a chance to react!
"I'll go first! I'll go first! My name is Jiro Inuzuka. I like spending time with Kamaru; I despise those who eat dog meat, and my ultimate dream is to become the Hokage!"
Following suit, four or five more outspoken teenagers promptly rose from their seats, eager to speak before anyone else could steal their spotlight.
Though the atmosphere was a bit chaotic, fortunately, there was no awkward silence, and Mr. Aoyama silently breathed a sigh of frustration. He must be thinking that he should not have given the kids the opportunity to decide for themselves.
"Don't rush; take it one at a time. Let's start with the girl on the left in the front row..."
"My name is Harada Saho. I adore kittens, I can't stand spicy food, and my dream is to become a formidable female ninja."
Unexpectedly, the second person to speak was a stark contrast to Inuzuka Jiro, opting for a more reserved approach.
"My name is Kiyoya Kobayashi, and my preferences... dislikes... dreams..."
A young boy, brimming with confidence, stood up and addressed the class. His air of superiority even made Toshiro, born into the Uchiha clan, feel a twinge of embarrassment. After the boys' words, he was getting sidelong glances from many of his classmates.
"My name is Sarutobi Hiro, hailing from the Sarutobi clan. I enjoy barbecue and sweet potatoes. I have no particular dislikes, and my dream is to become the next Hokage!."
Proud of his lineage, Hiro seemed to look down upon civilians and even certain clans within the village, including the Uchiha and Hyuga clans. His disdain extends even to allied clans like the Inuzuka, Nara, Yamanaka, and Aburame.
The Third Hokage's legacy looms large in the history of Konoha. I guess in the history of the Sarutobi clan, he would be an even greater legend. He single-handedly made the Sarutobi clan one of the most powerful clans in Konoha. Previously, it was on a similar level to the Nara, Yamanaka, and Akimichi clans.
Such an attitude isn't surprising, considering the diversity of personalities in the village.
As time elapsed, each teenager took their turn at the podium, sharing their preferences, dislikes, and aspirations. Mr. Aoyama diligently recorded each in his notebook.
Through these introductions, Toshiro gleaned that his class was akin to the elite class from his previous life, comprising children from various prominent families such as the Sarutobi, Shimura, Inuzuka, Aburame, and more, alongside some ordinary children with no notable lineage.
He also noticed that the class was predominantly male, with seven or eight boys aspiring to become hokage. Among them were children from prestigious clans as well as ordinary ones. Surprisingly, none of the girls expressed a desire to become Hokage; instead, most aimed to become powerful female ninjas or medical ninjas.
Soon it was his turn to introduce himself.
"My name is Uchiha Toshiro. I enjoy hot springs and quiet reading, and I detest... trouble. My dream is to become a formidable ninja, travel the ninja world, taste and savor its diverse cuisines and wines, and forge friendships with beautiful ladies," confidently declared Toshiro from his desk.
His words prompted raised eyebrows from Aoyama-sensei. While the beginning sounded reasonable, the latter part, particularly about indulging in wine and making friends with young ladies, seemed a tad mature for a six-year-old. Though precocious, these children were still just that—children. Was this child too advanced for his age?
"Wow, what a dream from this Uchiha kid!"
"Indeed! I might change my dream to match his. Travel the ninja world, tasting its cuisine and wines!"
"..." - Aoyama
Toshiro's speech sparked a lively discussion in the classroom. It seemed everyone had something to say.
He wasn't lying; these were indeed his genuine aspirations. He yearned to explore new lands, experience diverse cultures, and relish the culinary delights and beverages of the world.
These were his genuine thoughts. The world brimming with natural energy, whether it be the peculiar and colossal creatures or the exotic scenery, always promised him unique adventures.
As for befriending a beautiful young lady... well, he had ventured into the two-dimensional realm now, and perhaps it was a stroke of luck accumulated over many lifetimes. But did he truly aspire to be a shadowy figure behind the scenes with some huge dreams and ambitions? Or did he yearn to save the world and foster peace? It was all quite perplexing! Wasn't the allure of a beautiful lady tempting enough? If not for the inherent risks of being an uchiha and this world's situation, he wouldn't have labored so diligently to become a ninja.
At most, driven by curiosity, he would have delved into refining chakra and mastering various ninjutsu and sealing techniques. But rising before dawn every day for rigorous training? That was just exhausting...
"Wow, that Uchiha classmate has quite an impressive and lofty dream!"
'Could this kid be the next Jiraiya in the making? With the family crest Uchiha embroidered on his back, one couldn't help but envision him peeking at a hot spring pool...
The vision seemed completely off, not at all matching the arrogant and cold demeanor of the Uchiha clan!' thought Aoyama.
Aoyama had a clear understanding of Jiraya's mentality and even that of the other two Sannin Tsunade and Orochimaru, as he was their classmate during their time at the academy.
At this point, it was the 38th year of Konoha, and Jiraiya, Tsunade, and Orochimaru were only about 28 years old, in the prime of their lives. Even the future "Yellow Flash," the fastest ninja in the world, was merely 14 years old, still a teenager.
Like a butterfly flapping its wings in the Amazon rainforest of North America could trigger a tornado in Texas two weeks later, I couldn't help but wonder if my situation would cause a butterfly effect. What if there's no Sasuke, Naruto, or anything else in the future? How will the anime continue? And what if, when the time comes, Madara and Kaguya emerge once more? Will I need to intervene?
For some reason, nonsensical ideas kept popping up in Toshiro's mind...
