When I begged him not to fire me and my sis,he looked at me like I had grown two heads, but why?

We really couldn't afford to loose these jobs.Where will we get money to send to our family that we left back at home and I know they expected us to send them help soon since it has been literally 3 months since we left home and settled in this country.
I was brought back from my thoughts when I felt the hands that were holding my wrists tighten .

But I saw something I didn't expect or maybe i was just illusional . I saw pain and hurt in his grey eyes. It seemed like the more words I said,I more I was hurting him. I was getting confused because I remember saying nothing that could have hurt him.

I hiss since the pain on my wrists was increasing so I thought that maybe I could request him to release my hands unfortunately before I could get the chance to,I felt my feet being swept off the ground and I was now in someone's hands like how those beautiful brides are carried by their brides grooms especially on their wedding nights except here in this situation,i wasn't wearing a wedding gown and we weren't lovers with the person carrying me.
