Rick and the others walked through the thick fog walls of Yomi-no-Kuni. After a few moments of this Rick found a sense of confusion rise in his chest, it was bewildering to be walking aimlessly through a land he couldn't see or sense a thing.
Even with keen devil senses the fog was still represented thick and stubborn, 'This makes me more out of place, why are we even here?'
Argusi crowed her neck back as though she read Rick's thought and this startled him before she continued speaking, "this fog serves as a trap and a shield to hide behind, our enemies cannot locate us here that is why our senses are blunt here."
Rick memorized all she said to his brain, that reply covered a lot of his questions, still their reason for going through here was hidden.
"Why are we even here Jade?" After a long pondering he decided to ask directly.
Argusi sniffed a bit before replying to Rick with a stern voice, "in every organization, you need allies to assist you in your take over, that is where we are going to the lonely bar and secret hideout owned by me."
That made sense to hide a secret base in an enemy's environment.
The only problems Rick caught notice of in the fog where the wide range of monsters they had encountered in it.
One of them was the Oni, Arthur had explained it as malevolent, ogre-like creatures in folklore. Often depicted with horns, sharp claws, and wild hair. They are also associated with hell and are known for punishing evil deeds and carrying out the will of the gods.
Unlike the spirit he fought earlier the Oni was clearly sent by Amaterasu or whatever to skim through the entire fog for intruders. 'Even gods aren't stupid.'
Taking the mere Oni they encountered had also shown me a few things I would like to take notice of. My strength growth is extraordinary, if I continue this way I am sure I would become overpowered or grow beyond the expectations of even Argusi.
Well not to differ too much from the other dangers they encountered.
The next was the Gashadokuro, which Arthur explained is a giant skeletal creature from folklore. Said to be formed from the bones of people who died due to famine or war. Gashadokuro roams the night, making eerie noises and preying on unsuspecting humans. Its mere presence is believed to bring about 'death and misfortune.'
'I guess that means we are moving in this mission with misfortune, well we only encountered three.....'
All of a sudden a creature burst out of the fog leaping at their heads which they all ducked in synchrony. This was the ninth time of this happening throughout the long days they spent in Yomi-no-Kuni.
They all stared at the monster that attacked which turned around to attack again, a monster like humanoid corpse exhuming dark smoke from it's body, it growled showing it's dark rolls of rottened teeth as it spun it's eyes that had simply lost all colours, the sight if this being could make a grown up man vomit his guts out as this labelled ugly in all their hearts.
"What the fuck is this one Arthur?" Rick asked pointing out his palm and letting out a dark red bean fly from palm at the monster which deftly escaped the beam charging at them with limitless speed.
"I hate crappy women!" Argusi glared at the monster intensely and suddenly a pressure was dropped ok it as if one hundred meters per second was multiplied to the gravitational constant.
Surprisingly the Monster paused in it's run to stand on it's shaky two's while it's bones resounded into splitting cracks.
Rick almost grinned but held it back, during the last few days he had seen Argusi in action and was impressed, not only was she hot but a great fighter, he had also improved a lot too to complement his own ranks.
Arthur yawned, "wanna kill it and absorb it's fore Rick?"
Rick nodded in agreement, this was another shortcut to gaining power, a devil's body could absorb the life of other creatures at the doors of death into strength to it. Simply put the closer your opponent to death, the stronger we get.
"I will kill it, but first what the heck is this creature?" Rick wanted to get a bit more information about this creatures, 'even murderers get information too.'
Arthur gave a brief moment to think before replying as the scholar of the group, "It's a Jikininki, they are supernatural beings from Yomi-no-Kuni that feed on human corpses. They are said to be cursed individuals who were greedy and selfish in life, and as punishment, they are condemned to roam graveyards and consume the flesh of the deceased. Jikininki are often depicted as ghoulish creatures with rotting features."
Rick smiled now, "now I see why she is so ugly." The sin of greed was also an ugly sin.
Rick pointed out his palm at the Jikininki, he wasn't planning to blast but try a new move. Argusi had thought him how to manipulate gravity, still he wasn't as good as her who could do it at one gaze however, 'I can do a lot more damage than a time pause.'
Common knowledge time moves because if gravity, the lesser gravity felt by a body the faster it moves, but when more gravity is exerted on a body just like an aircraft falling from deep space into earth atmosphere and losing most of it's parts.
The cells that cannot withstand the intense gravity will be destroyed and unfortunately the body isn't a system of metal but flesh and whatever blood so by destroying a few atoms....
SPLAT! SPLOOOSH! FWOOOSH!
One by one the organs and skin of the Jikininki began to burst into blood under high pressure just like a hose pumping water into a balloon. The entire body if the Jikininki all at once popped into rains of flesh and blood.
"When they begin to lose cells, they crumble to nothing."
