Right as he was watching Elara's helphess body, the destructive glow in his eyes began to fade, replaced by a more human look of pain and regret. His body slowly relaxed and the tension, thirst and hunger drained away as he continued to breathe in her calming scent.
Alpha Harlan human's form started to surface, —the sharp lines of his monstrous transformation softened. His breathing steadied and the wild look in his eyes dissipated.
"My Luna!" he whispered, his voice hoarse but humane as he recognized Elara fully.
Elara was still motionless but several tears already filled her ears as she laid. Alpha Harlan closed his eyes for a moment, gathering his strength, and then opened them to meet her gaze slumberingly opened.
"I'm sorry," he murmured, the weight of his secret getting revealed pressed heavily on him. He lifted Elara in his arm while Elara, with dazzling eyes watched him as he carried her outside his secret room.
