She aimed for the heart. As Harlan always said, "Aim true, and you will survive."
Elara released the arrow. It flew straight and true, hitting the demon in the chest. The demon let out a horrible scream and fell to the ground. Elara didn't celebrate. She knew there were more.
She moved again, faster this time. The forest was her home, and she knew it well. She climbed a nearby tree, seeking a better vantage point. From her perch, she could see more demons in the distance. She counted three.
Elara prepared another arrow. She aimed at the nearest demon. Her heart was steady. She released the arrow, and another demon fell. The remaining two demons roared in anger. They looked around, trying to find her.
