Casting an eerie light over the space. In the center of the chamber was the pit, a gaping hole that seemed to swallow the light around it. The pit emanated a dark, pulsing energy, like a heartbeat from the depths.
The air was thick with a foreboding presence. It felt as though the ground itself was alive, breathing in the darkness. Harlan led Elara to the edge of the pit, where she peered into the abyss. It was an endless void, stretching far beyond what the eye could see.
"This is the entrance to the underworld," Harlan said. "It's where we must go to face the panel."
Elara shivered, both from the cold and the gravity of their task. She clung to Harlan's arm, drawing strength from his presence.
"We can do this," she whispered, more to herself than to Harlan.
Harlan nodded, his eyes fixed on the darkness below. "Together," he said firmly. "We face this together."
