Chereads / Legendary Limitless / Chapter 2 - Nolan

Chapter 2 - Nolan

"Hmm. Hmm. Hmm."

Zachy was making a happy voice as he examined his new business papers and documents, which were beginning to work slowly, although he was originally a herb dealer, but the skins and meat that Nolan traded with him earned a lot. In the past he preferred to be banished with his leader, but he was exiled in another area of the Earth kingdom away from Nolan. He tried for two years to meet Nolan again. He learned the trade and developed from himself until he became a skilled dealer, and by accident he met his old leader while travelling in the desert. Nolan was trying to steal from them at that time, but once it became clear that the leader and his follower had met again ,Zachy felt enthusiasm and strength, which he had not felt for some time.In his journey he met a little girl with red hair and blue eyes has a closeness to the fire and is clearly not from the surrounding areas, which means that she may be the daughter of a soldier from the Fire Kingdom or perhaps an illegitimate child however, her background doesn't matter much because she was a slave at the time before Zachy bought her for a hight price. Surprisingly, the young girl who looks like 12 or 13 years old made a promise with Zachy that she would serve him five years to pay for her release before she goes on her own way. Of course, if another trader had heard that, he would have already gone mad, but Zachy was actually happy to know that the girl's soul had not lost its dignity or determination despite all the harsh conditions that she had experienced.

For the two and a half years since the girl's liberation, she has never once disappointed Zachy, for him, that this girl may be considered a true genius, that she is smart and cunning in commerce, strategic planning and even fighting, but sometimes she seems like an idiot when it's comes to the her social skills.Considering her previous situation, it makes sense to develop a knot against others, anyway, Zachy is grateful to her and her trust.

"So Adean...*sigh* almost two years left, huh? It's been a while, no?"

"What? Will you die of grief when I leave? Or are you gonna drop the promise and make me stay? Too bad I didn't expect that from you, Mr. Zachy."

"Oh yeah, I forgot that you were a long tongue Ha ha!"

Zachy drank the tea that Adean made, and then he enjoyed the quiet, watching the view of the vast desert in front of him while she was silently convicted before she suddenly spoke.

"Mr. Zachy, can I ask you something?"

"Hmm? Oh, of course. Of course. "

She didn't hesitate.

"Who's that old man who visits us every month? Why does he take you as a mediator? And can he be trusted?"

"Oi, isn't that a lot of questions?"

Zachy smiled ironically, and then he just said,

"He's my boss, Adean. Of course he's strong and I trust him."

Although the lack of conviction was as obvious as the sun on her face, but she didn't want to ask more questions , so she didn't go too far, but she will no doubt come back to ask again.

Before she left, Zachy called on her, and then he referred to the teapot next to him while he smiled.

With an alarming look, she grabbed the teapot and then heated it by fire, and without Zachy noticing, she also heated the handle as a kind of entertainment before bringing it back to Zachy's side.

In the small hut ,both of Matoh and Nolan was hoping to find inner peace, or that's what Nolan said, but Matoh was having trouble keeping a low profile.

"I'm really gonna lose my mind if the rest of this is longer!"

Matoh was really on the verge of collapse, but he was nervous about his grandfather's reaction, so he tried his best to endure, but to surprise him, Nolan was the one who broke the silence when he said,

"Ready yourself...We're going to practice."

"Huh? What?Hey, do you mean it?"

Nolan stopped in front of the door, and then he said

"If you don't want to learn to break fire, it's okay to stay where you are."

Matoh's eyes were shining with a ray of excitement, and before he realized, his body had already gone out.

" Finally finally! Finally! "

"Come on now, calm down. Feelings are the most important key to master the fire transgression. Remember that."

"Oh! Okay, Grandpa.

Nolan looked at Maton, and then he noded his head.

"Well, then, keep an eye on me."

Nolan made monotonous movements, but they seem different each time, as if he were giving more and more power. Without wasting time, Matho took his grandfather's position and began to imitate him.

About five years ago, when Matoh was eight years old, his grandfather brought a strange stone with him one night. It turned out to actually be a rare monster with an unbreakable shell, but Nolan was able to kill the monster by burning it alive with a smooth, beautiful yet powerful fiery cut

Ever since that day, Matoh wanted to use the beautiful art his grandfather always used. The Fire transgression.

They were moving their bodies almost an hour ago, usually Matoh would complain if it was about the water transgression, but it was now a much more concentrated centre, despite all the fatigue and pain he felt, repeatedly and repudiately, those routine movements were digging deep into the soul and the bones , and before his grandfather had already stopped moving and was just watching his grandson carefully.

"Now stop."

Nolan's order while Matoh hesitated to stop because he was so focused, but he did it eventually. There were moments of silence before Nolan spoke.

"What did you feel?"

"Every time I move, I use most of my muscles which makes me feel the strength and the heat that each muscle releases at once."

"Good, you're already a genius kid, but you're still losing something in your note, you know what it is? "

Surprised Matoh had his head down and thought for a few moments, and then he lifted his head up with a frustrated face because he couldn't answer.

"The answer is the same thing I mentioned earlier, feelings. When you are tired, when you felt relieved by the wind breeze, did it get hotter? When you felt pain in your toes, did the heat spread all over your body randomly, or did your body instinctively concentrate it on your feet?"

"This..."

All those comments were amazingly accurate for Matoh.

" *Sigh* to tell the truth, most children from the Fire Kingdom discover these things in the start, so you're actually slower or on the level of a normal child."

Those facts shocked the boy, who felt pain in his heart because he disappointed his grandfather, but Nolan continued his earlier statement with a strange statement.

"But I didn't lie when I said you were a genius, Matoh, because all the children of the Fire Kingdom....no let me be more precise *sigh*. Any living being in the world has something that links it with a certain element, whether fire or any other element, and that is through the inspiration provided by the element itself. , but you are different... You're special because you don't hear those revelations."

"What? Why? That's not fair!."

"Calm down. It's not a bad thing... Let me first explain to you better, the element depends on four basic factors, first it's the mana, second it's the convergence, third it's the body print, fourth it's the mental print... I'll explain them all to you later, but today I'm just gonna focus on convergence....so Convergence is more like the distinctive symbol of each element being dug into the soul of the creature, if your soul contains the symbol of the fire element, you cannot use the rest of the elements as a result, with every symbol passing through every person , we can feel an old and mysterious knowledge of the element is entering into our bodies and helping us to understand and absorb the element faster and more effectively, but you are a special person because you don't have that symbol, so I'm saying you're a genius because you've reached an acceptable level without the help of any ancient knowledge."

Matoh didn't talk because he was shocked, he was given important information about himself that he simply didn't know, of course he would feel some pressure. That's what Nolan was thinking, but to his surpriseMatoh simply response.

"Can I practice for a little while longer?"

"...."

" Whatever you want, but don't go too far. I don't want you to pass out, 'cause that would mean I'm having dinner alone."

"Okey, thank you, Grandpa!"

At Zachy's house, Adean was taking a combat position, and then she was carrying out a series of elegant and fast movements.

"What? No fire?"

Zachy was watching it from afar with a smile on his face.

"What? No hair?"

The bald man touched his head in a surprise from the girl's response before his face turned red.

"Girl!...Agh, I'm eating your share of dessert as a punishment for you!"

Adean didn't hear Zachy's threat because she was focused on something important, and then suddenly she wrapped around her waist while the flame danced around her in the form of a beautiful fire dance, and then she made a high jump in the air before came back on the ground, those movements were like the birth of the Phoenix.

She was so satisfied with those movements that she had a little smile, but soon her eyes expanded, because she remembered that these weren't movements that a slave could know about.

"Oh fuck, I've been so into it,did he notice something?!"

Adean quickly looked at Zachy, but without making it clear, just to find him drinking tea peacefully with a stupid smile on his face.

"Maybe I overreacted. He's kind, but he's stupid. He's not gonna find anything out from a random dance."

Zacky on the other hand, smiled amusedly as he peeked at her.

"Hmm. Interesting."

Another month went by, and Nolan came back to meet Zachy.

"Things are getting worse, sir, there will be a duel between the prince and the son of trader Suzu in the next few days, and I've heard for sure that the trade union association really decides to rebel against the king and want me with them."

"The competition will take place in three months...Hmm, do you intend to step in?"

"Only if my captain so desires."

"You're a good person, Zachy."

"Hey, that's nice talk, sir. I remember you almost got me killed when--"

"Zachy..."

"Ahem. my apologize... So, sir, how's Matoh? "

"I started teaching him someting."

"Oh, of course sir, but what a genius, he has a connection with earth! maybe in the future he will have a chance with the fire, to be honest i cant imagine your grandson dont have a connection with the fire Hahah"

" Listen, Zachy, you have to promise me something."

"Yes"?

"Whatever it is, if you're put in a position with regard to Matoh, you must protect him, and here I'm not speaking as a grandfather, I'm speaking as your leader... Even if it cost you your life, Zachy, you must give your life for this purpose."

Zachy fell silent for moments before his laughter across the whole house.

"Oh, sir, are you really asking me this nicely? You ordered me to die in the battle of the great iceberg just to end up saving me, please don't ever think I'd hesitate to offer my life for your grandson!"

" Thanks, Zachy..... Anyway, I'd love to go now."

When Nolan opened the door and walked through the side, he noticed the shape of a girl looking at him with cold and wild eyes. Even for the commander Nolan, the amount of blood thirst from this girl was interesting.

Looks like she heard their previous conversation, and she doesn't seem to appreciate Nolan's request very much.

Nolan didn't care about her and ignore her, after Nolan left she looked at Zachy room and thought

"How can you sacrifice your life for a child you haven't even met? his name is Matoh ?...So, I'm gonna decide what he worth myself when I meet him."
