Chapter 4 - Breathe

November 19. 2021

Words: Pollution, Measurement

I long for the days when nature's influence covers the lands, days when wild life roamed freely, days when humans could take a breath of fresh air. Grandfather showed us the image of an Ideal world. Society, on the other hand, displayed the cruelty of us humans.

Beyond even the horizon, humanity's structures ruled mother nature. Towering buildings, unnecessary skyscrapers, and polluting factories. It's hard to believe forests once covered these lands. That is Earth today.

Because of the carelessness of humans, the air was cursed with toxins. Once upon a time, a toxic smog covered the atmosphere. Since then, it never went away. Instead of solving the problem, society deemed it as the "proof of evolution." The arrogance of humans, I can't tolerate it.

Without a set of bottled oxygen and an oxygen mask, going outside is impossible. Even with a quick inhale, you would be diagnosed with numerous respiratory problems. It makes me think that hospitals like to empty our pockets. Unbelievable.

It was a simple answer. With the help of other countries, we could have stopped this crisis a long time ago. However, It never happened. Instead, they turned a bind eye and continued to develop more intricate technologies which would not help fixing the environment.

I wish I never saw nature's suffering. I wish I never saw the actions of these humans. I wish I could have helped. I wish I could breathe the fresh air of nature…
