Chapter 11 - Screening Race

After having shown his strength and achieving a preliminary deterrent effect.

White Falcon withdrew his gaze and continued:

"Although that guy just now is a piece of trash, what he said has some truth to it. Everyone's strength and level should be displayed in a fairer way, rather than just being judged unilaterally by the Adventurer Guild."

The moment these words came out, the crowd of adventurers were a bit confused.

Originally, they thought that this Duke White Falcon was coming out to speak up for the three major adventuring groups.

Who knew that the other party would abandon his darkness and give the Adventurer Guild a stab in the back.

"In order to be able to bring such a fair opportunity to all of you. We, the Snow Eagle Adventure Group, will unite with the Griffin and Nine Vulture Adventure Groups to organize a screening competition."

The White Falcon raised a long, white, well-boned finger.

"The screening competition is divided into three rounds, and those adventurer friends who can pass the first round will be able to obtain the entry and exit qualifications for the outer regions of the underground palace."

The White Falcon stretched out a second finger.

"Adventurers who pass the second round can follow our three major adventure troupes and adventure in the middle layer, and even the inner layer area. All harvests from the adventures can be exchanged with contribution applications."

Then, White Falcon raised a third finger.

"As for the friends of certain adventure groups. If you have the strength to pass the third round of examination, the guild will allow you to conduct autonomous openings, after all, your strength has already been proven."

At that moment, someone among the adventurers snapped, "How can we be sure that that so-called screening tournament is fair enough? If you guys are sincerely trying to make things difficult for people, aren't we just going to be led around by the nose?"

"The screening tournament will consider the adventurer's professional level, individual combat strength, teamwork, and other aspects. In terms of fairness, the Adventurer's Guild will supervise and witness, so you can all rest assured."

White Falcon said, adding in passing:

"Of course, even if we, the three major adventurer groups, want to give you all a chance, our energy is limited. Coupled with the rental of the venue, and the deployment of manpower, those of you who decide to participate need to pay a registration fee of two hundred silver coins. After passing at least one round of assessment, these two hundred silver coins are returned the way they were intended. Moreover, the winner in the third round of the screening round will also receive a high-level skill scroll, and two pieces of exquisite grade equipment as a reward for the winner from the three major adventuring groups."

Speaking of this, the corners of White Falcon's cool mouth couldn't help but hook up slightly.

This final reward was meant to be an about-face bet between the three leaders and each other.

Regardless of the outcome, the final winner would only come from the three major adventuring groups.

As for those lone wolf adventurers, they neither had the qualifications nor the strength to get their hands on the winner's reward.

As soon as these words came out, another burst of noisy chatter erupted in the crowd.

Advanced skill scrolls on the market were not rare.

Scrolls that could be preserved to this day and had yet to be used.

Either the domain the skill belonged to was too rare to be paired with the skills of most adventurers.

Either the skill itself is not rare, so instead of spending hundreds of gold coins to buy a high-level scroll.

Instead of spending hundreds of gold coins to buy a high-level scroll, it would be better to learn the low-level version of the skill, and then step by step increase the proficiency level, and slowly promote up.

But in either case, when a high-level skill scroll appears as a reward.

It would surely trigger a frenzied fighting spirit that adventurers would rush to.

As for the other two rewards.

Every piece of equipment that could be rated as "exquisite" was from the hands of a master craftsman.

When an adventurer had a piece of exquisite equipment that suited him, the increase in combat power was almost as great as the increase in combat power.

The increase in combat power was almost as great as a mid-level skill scroll!

The two hundred silver coins as the enrollment fee was an affordable price for most adventurers.

The point of returning the silver coins after passing the examination also allowed adventurers who had confidence in their own strength to not worry so much about money.

"So this is the real purpose of the three big adventuring groups, quite good at playing."

Galen stood between the crowd with his arms around his chest.

The changes in the expressions on the faces of the adventurers were all seen by him.

One had to admit that this White Falcon did have some level of speech.

In just a few minutes of work, he had defused the confrontational conflict between the adventurers and the three major adventure groups.

And skillfully transferred the impulsive energy in people's hearts to shelling out money to buy entry qualifications.

What made Galen feel even more admired was.

Among the crowd, there were already people from the three great adventure groups lurking.

Just waiting for the White Falcon to give his choice, the people from the three major adventure groups who had been placed in advance responded with their words and became the first group of people to pay the enrollment fee.

The atmosphere was set in place, plus there was someone leading the way.

There were more and more adventurers who were willing to buy in, gradually forming a trend like a snowball.

Just this control over the hearts of the people, the person behind the scenes who planned this drama was truly worthy of admiration.

And like Galen, there were a few cases where neither emotions were mobilized nor a herd mentality existed.

As long as they still wanted to enter the underground palace for adventure, they would inevitably participate in the rules set by the three big adventure groups under the influence of this trend.

The people of the three great adventure groups were also very efficient in their actions.

Within a short period of time, the venue that had been rented in advance had already been set up.

The first round of the screening tournament was conducted on the second floor of the Adventurer's Guild.

"So long as it's only two hundred silver coins, with my strength even if I can't get the winner's reward, getting through the three rounds of assessment shouldn't be much of a problem."

Galen was originally going to venture into the underground palace.

Compared to breaking into the underground palace the hard way, there were all sorts of troubles that might be triggered.

Right now, this way of screening tournaments was undoubtedly a bit simpler and easier for Galen.

Stepping back into the Adventurer's Guild, Galen clearly felt a coldness that emanated from his side as he brushed past the White Falcon.

Other adventurers had seen White Falcon's strength.

All of them were intentionally avoiding this high-level adventurer with uncommon strength.

Galen, however, did not have this realization, and fear of the strong at all.

He only slightly sidestepped his body to show courtesy when he brushed past.

"I'll be waiting for you in the second round."

White Falcon's voice was still as cold as ever, yet it carried a sense of killing.

She stayed where she was, seemingly to say these words to Galen.

After saying that, White Falcon lifted her cloak compiled of gray and white down feathers and left in large strides.

"What a woman who holds a grudge."

Galen shook his head and found the staff in charge of enrollment in the first floor hall.

"Name, occupation, adventurer rating." The person in charge of enrollment was still an internal staff member of the guild.

For this screening tournament, besides the three major adventuring corps that were the dominant players, the guild was also one of the profiting parties.

Just the cost of renting the venue for the three big adventure groups was enough for the Adventurer's Guild to make a steady profit.

"Galen O'Shield, Shield Guard Profession, Lower Level Adventurer." Galen said truthfully and handed out his adventurer badge as proof.
