Chapter 26 - Episode 026

"The Pequot tribe is invading, so wake up the people? Got it."

At my instructions, 'Wind and Cloud' turned around without a second thought and ran with all their might.

"The Pequots are attacking! Everyone, rise up!"

As soon as I saw the hut, I opened the leather door and went in, shouting at the top of my lungs.

"The Pequots are invading. It's war!"

While 'Wind and Cloud' was waking up the people, I turned my head and looked towards the entrance of the fence, checking the map window again.

There are about fifty red dots. That wasn't all. On either side of the fence, several red dots were moving away quickly and disappearing.

At least sixty people.

"Inventory!"

Without hesitation, I took out my shield right there and then. Before I knew it, a large shield was in my left hand. I took another quick look around the fence, anxiously waiting for the villagers to come out.

At that moment, the quest was triggered and notification sounds were heard one after another.

[Tiring!]

[Quest has been started.]

[Quest: Win the war against the Pequot tribe.]

[Reward: A large amount of experience points.]

[Tiring!]

[Quest has been started.]

[Quest: Subdue the Pequot warriors who have invaded the village.]

[Reward: Experience points are awarded based on the number of warriors you subdue.]

I didn't even have time to properly check the contents of the message. On the right fence, two Pequot warriors with Mohawk haircuts appeared, wearing black war paint with red around the eyes, and attempted to climb over the fence.

"Damn it! Why isn't it out yet?"

A slur mixed with irritation came out. I absentmindedly ran towards the fence where the Pequot warrior was trying to climb over, and used my inventory to change my weapon.

Before I knew it, I had picked up my bow and quickly stopped when the Pequot warrior came within range of my bow.

He took the arrow out of the quiver, placed it on the bowstring, and took his stance. I tried my best to capture that feeling and sensation of hitting the target accurately.

'now!'

He released the arrow from the bowstring with a cold glare in his eyes.

Swish!

The arrow flew quickly in a short parabolic arc toward the Pequot warrior. But, it went astray. A Pequot warrior hanging on the fence looked at me in surprise, seeing an arrow embedded in the fence wall.

Shh.

Another arrow, loaded at high speed, flew.

Eww!

A Pequot warrior with an arrow in his shoulder fell from the fence with a short scream.

Crash!

The Pequot warrior stood up immediately with a pained expression on his face, as the attack was not fatal enough to kill him on the spot.

As soon as I picked up the fallen stone spear, the Pequot warrior came running towards me with a menacing roar, his breath emitting a strong murderous aura.

Adadadadadadadada!

I had no time to worry about the enemy running towards me. Because one Pequot warrior was still climbing over the fence.

He fired three arrows in succession as if hoping to hit at least one of them.

Swish! Swish! Swish!

The first arrow missed, the second and third hit. The Pequot warrior fell outside the fence, bleeding, clutching the third arrow in his neck with both hands.

As soon as I put the bow on my shoulder.

'Inventory! Stone Spear!'

The Pequot warrior who had suddenly approached me stopped for a moment in surprise when he saw me holding a spear as if casting a spell.

I didn't miss that opportunity. He struck the spear in his hand hard as if sweeping the ground.

Phew!

The Pequot warrior, who had fallen sideways and was looking at me with fearful eyes, dropped his spear again. Murder...

The hesitation was brief. I closed my eyes tightly and struck the stone with all my might.

Phew!

Strength 26. Is that because it reflects the game ability? The spear easily pierced the Pequot warrior's heart. The Pequot warrior's bulging eyes were slowly dying.

When the spear was removed from his heart, blood gushed out like a fountain. He turned his gaze away and muttered in a small voice against the pangs of conscience and guilt.

"They tried to kill me. I had to kill them to live..."

My gaze lingered on the trembling window. However, there was no time to indulge in such sentiments. Before we knew it, enemies were coming over from the other side of the fence.

"This is driving me crazy. Seriously!"

* * *

It's dawn, but the sun hasn't risen yet. The 'Brave Serpent', who brought with him nearly one hundred and twenty warriors, waited for the Lenape tribe to fall into a deep sleep and let their guard down.

Because surprise is the best strategy and tactic. The 'Brave Snake' watched the battlefield with leisurely eyes as if victory was a given.

A force of about fifty warriors was charging toward the entrance to the Lenape enclosure.

"Don't let your guard down!"

"Break down the entrance in one go!

"We are the great Pequot warriors!"

The Pequot warriors responded with howls to the shouts of their commanding warrior.

Adadadadadadadada! Adadadadadadadada!

With a satisfied expression, the 'Brave Snake' turned his head and looked at the 'Horned Toad' who was assisting him from the side.

"We have to drive the Lenape crazy."

The 'Horned Toad' answered with a confident expression.

"I have already given orders to deploy thirty warriors and attack other fence areas as well as the entrance."

"Good."

There was an overwhelming difference in military force. Given the size of the fence, there are probably only about thirty warriors left who can fight us.

It is a war that we have no choice but to win. The 'Brave Snake' took a blueberry to his mouth and asked the 'Horned Toad' question slyly.

"When do you expect the entrance to open?"

"It won't be too late. Perhaps by the time the sun rises and breakfast is served, the girls in that village will have become the chief's women."

"Hahaha! Of course it should be like that. Ah! I wish you would capture the white guy alive instead of killing him."

"If that is what the chief wants, then I must do it."

* * *

"The Pequot tribe has invaded!"

The 'Forest Hunter', who had been sleeping deeply due to fatigue the day before, jumped out of bed at the urgent words of 'Wind and Cloud'.

His wife, 'Flowers on the Tree', and his children were fast asleep, unaware of anything. First, I went outside the shack and quickly looked around to see what the situation was.

Stop!

'Wind and Cloud' was going around the huts, waking up the villagers, while on one side, 'A Very Big Two Thousand Days' was fighting fiercely with those who were climbing over the fence.

"Pequot?"

With startled eyes, the 'hunter of the forest' entered the hut and woke his wife and children in a hurry.

"It is not time to sleep. Get up, everyone. The Pequot tribe is invading."

When the 'Forest Hunter' woke them up roughly, unlike usual, the 'Flowers on the Tree' was the first to wake them up, and they got up one by one, rubbing their eyes.

"what's the matter?"

As I asked 'Flowers on the Tree' with my eyes still half-open, the 'Hunter of the Forest', armed with a stone spear and wooden shield, hurriedly ran outside.

"The Pequot tribe has invaded. You have taken refuge in the food store with their children."

"The Pi-Quat tribe has invaded? Oh, I see."

Knowing that the situation was very serious, 'Flowers on the Tree' spoke to 'The Moon Rises', who was standing there with a fearful expression.

"Do you know where the food storage is? You take your brothers and go there first."

"Okay, Mom!"

Meanwhile, the 'Forest Hunter' came out of the hut and quickly gave instructions as the villagers came out one by one as if something was going on.

"Armed warriors, help the 'very big two thousand days'! Women, take the old and children and take refuge in the food storages!"

"Understood, Chief!"

At that moment, the warriors of the 'Yellow Tree' rushed out from the hut they had built, fully armed. The 'Strong Soul Warrior' looked around, grasped the situation at once, and ran towards the 'Forest Hunter'.

"Are you a Pequot tribe?"

The 'Hunter of the Forest' nodded with a serious expression and said.

"It's been a while since I've visited, and I'm sorry for putting you in such an awkward situation."

"That could be the case. How can we help?"

"Thank you."

The 'strong-souled warrior' appeared calm on the outside, but was very anxious on the inside.

'We really stepped in some shit. It felt cheap. And the Pequots came barging in just as we were visiting.'

The 'Forest Hunter' turned his head and looked towards the entrance to the fence.

"I will join you shortly with my warriors, so in the meantime, I would like you to defend the entrance so that the door does not collapse."

"······."

For a moment, the 'Strong Soul Warrior' paused and nodded with a stern expression.

"Okay."

Before we knew it, the 'Strong Soul Warrior' was running towards the entrance with his warriors. Meanwhile, the 'Forest Hunter' gave urgent instructions as he saw the ten warriors of the tribes gathering around him.

"This is a war that will determine the fate of our village. We must stop the Pequots from getting over the fence. Let's go!"

"Yes, Chief!"

The 'Forest Hunter' led his warriors and ran towards the Pequot warriors who had just climbed over the fence.

"Throw the window!"

Ten stone spears flew out terrifyingly at the same time. The Pequot warriors, without shields, tried to block the blows with their spears, but in vain.

Pok! Pok! Pok! Pok pok pok!

As the Pequot warriors, each with two or three spears stuck in their bodies, fell, the Lenape warriors rushed in and struck them relentlessly with their clubs.

Until the face is sunken in, the head is cracked, and blood and brain fluid flow out.

Pfft! Pfftpfft! Pfftpfft! Pfftpfft!

After completing the confirmation kill, the 'Forest Hunter' moved with his warriors to find the next target.

"Over there."

"Yes, Chief!"

The 'Forest Hunter' who was running in the lead let out a sigh of relief.

'Whew! If I had been just a little bit later, I could have been in trouble.'

I don't know who noticed it first, but if it weren't for the 'Very Big Two Thousand Days' and 'The Wind and the Clouds', I would have been defeated by the Pequot tribe without even being able to exert any force.

Leading to a new world?

'I wish that were true, at least today.'

* * *

The spear was a bit inconvenient for close combat against multiple opponents. I was fighting fiercely, surrounded by three Pequot warriors who had climbed over the fence, shield and club in hand.

Tick! Papapapak! Papak!

My shield was perfectly blocking the enemy's spears. However, there was no time to attack with a club. At that moment, one of the enemy's spears quickly stabbed into my side.

Swish!

I had been waiting for this attack, so I moved without hesitation and attacked the enemy's weak point.

Tick!

He lightly struck out the shield in his left hand, then flew forward in an instant and brought his club down hard on the head of the Pequot warrior who was unable to put his spear away.

Phew!

Eww!

The Pequot warrior fell to the ground with his head split open like a watermelon. In an instant, I changed direction and charged forward without hesitation at the two Pequot warriors whose formation had collapsed.

He struck the spear of the Piquitt warrior who stumbled backwards and got his steps twisted, then struck him twice in the chest with his club.

Thud! Thud!

He raised his shield and swung it upward, leaving the warrior to fall backwards with a scream of pain.

Phew!

A Pequot warrior who had been standing there in confusion was struck in the jaw by his shield and knocked unconscious.

Crash!

My attacks didn't end there. After killing him by striking his head with a club, he beat the Pequot warrior, who was lying on the ground with a pained expression, with his shield and club like a dog.

Thud! Puff puff puff! Thud! Thud!

Only when the last remaining Pequot warrior breathed his last in a pitiful state did I cease my attack and turn around. Bloody red blood dripped from my club and shield as I checked the map window to find my prey.

And just then, my allies were running towards me. 'The brave wolf', 'The swift deer', 'The honest bear', etc.

"You came late."

As I spoke, breathing heavily, 'Brave Wolf' spoke on behalf of the warriors.

"Sorry, I was a little late because I had to get my weapons."

"I forgive you. I will forgive you."

I moved again, following the red dot displayed on the map window.

"Over there."

The 'brave wolf' and the warriors followed without saying a word. At that moment, I saw 'The Moon Rises' taking a little child with it.

And behind them, two Pequot warriors, who had just climbed over the fence, were in hot pursuit.

'This is driving me crazy. Why are you there?'
