Chapter 11 - Chapter 10

Nova stared at the moon wishing for hope as she was losing strength. Her powers could not compete with that of her grandmother's.

She had tried different psychic ways to make the cage loose but each time, she always failed to break it, and her little strength too.

For the past 17 years she had lived with her grandmother, she had always wondered whether her grandmother was really her late mother's mother. She always treated her coldly and this had always left her wondering what situation could have happened to her in the past that made her become this way.

This was the second day she had locked her out of the yard. She was inside the cage, under the half Moon, she was weak and feeble.

It was possible for her to survive the other days her grandmother had her locked in her room without food. She could bear it because then, she had always had snacks and junks hidden in different corners of her room but now that she was locked outside in the cage with no blanket and nobody to help her get out and with a splitting headache from the impact of the untreated wound her grandma had given her the other day she felt really weak.

She had stayed in the cage since the morning, bearing the scorching sun that had come and gone.

Her grandmother had occasionally come to the window to stare at her and see how she was faring even though she didn't come out of the yard to check whether the substances she sprinkled and poured on her made her dead but from her maternal instincts, she still watched her from the window, hoping that she would succeed the task she had to set up for her.

Freya sat having her claws sharpened by a female, her fellow omega sho were of the lowest ranks in the pack.

Even though she was the head of the war pack of the werewolves, She was still an omega and had the lowest rank in the pack.

Her position and that of most others had no slight difference. Most had gossiped about how she was to be grateful that she was even accepted into the pack even though she had the half blood of a witch.

She had accepted to find the mate of Alpha Heir Damien.

His father had threatened to expel her from the pack and her position as the War department leader if she did not find her for his son.

The Alpha was by the door meaning to enter where she was. As he saw how the other omega was sharpening Freya's claws and smiling, myriads of thoughts crossed his mind.

Damien's werewolf age was fast passing the youthful age, even though he would just be 18 in the human realm.

He wanted him to bear his own heir. He wanted him to go to war with the Vampires too. He was afraid of dying empty handed without having any big news to give to his father who died at the hands of the Vampires.

He wanted to bring news about how he ended the vampires to him and Damien was the hope of that news --- if he went to war with all the forces he had united for him.

All the werewolf clans that had gone separate ways, he had reunited them all and made them all stay together as a pack, even though it was an uncommon thing for most werewolves.

Freya was the reason most of them had agreed to come back. She was a good orator, another reason why he had not expelled her from the pack even though he had wanted to countless times, fearing that her alliances might shift one day.

Freya's voice had been heard by packs speaking about how the vampires had killed the werewolves in the past and about how they needed to reunite for their common goal and for their survival.

That was the task he had given to her before accepting her proposal of making her the head of the war department of the pack.

Uniting the different clans of the werewolf kingdoms.

She had journeyed into the various parts of the deep forests, countlessly telling tales daily of how the Vampires had killed the werewolves in the past and how most of them lost dear ones. About how the Vampires were gradually building their empires to take over the whole forests and chase them out. About how the Vampires would soon end the werewolf realm if they did not come together as a pack and fight against their forces.

He had heard the countless praises of those that had followed her into the forest, even about how some saw her as the Savior and in his heart, he had wished his son was the one that was held dear to the hearts of the people.

He envied her, the forces that followed him because of her, he envied her for his son and a chance of her shifting alliances against him in the future. He envied her for still being alive and not dying like her other family members.

"You will move out tonight. You will return before the next full moon. You must return with her" he issued sternly and left the room.

He himself was surprised how he had gone to her lair to give her the order when he could have used a messenger but shrugged off the thought as he thought of how important the stern warning he gave to her was. He wanted her to know that he did not need her anymore and that he was ready to expell her like he had promised if she did not meet up with any of his orders to her.

She was expendable, and he knew that she knew because he made her know that before him, she was expendable. Even though she was beloved by some clans, she was expendable even before them. Werewolves would not openly follow a lycan that had a witches blood. It was his upper hand factor. She was half witch and witches and werewolves we're not friends.

Some witches that came in the past to restore normalcy to the forests had taken the hands of the vampires and had killed some werewolves in the past, some vampires married black witches too. So witches were also seen as the enemies. They were the friends of their enemy and their enemies friends were also their friends, no werewolf would follow her because of her witchy origins.

Freya raised her head. Someone was coming in again, at first she thought it was the Alpha coming back to give her another stern warning or another order or another threat of expulsion if she did not succeed, but to her surprise, it was the Alpha Heir Damien which left her wondering why he had come into her lair to seek her. It was uncommon for him, apart from the training grounds where he learnt from her, he had never come to her lair before, neither had he had any personal dealings with her before.

Damien on his part stared at her, motioning to her to excuse the Omega who was there sharpening her claws for her.

The Omega on seeing him had dolled up to a corner before she left after noticing the silence in the room.

She was just an Omega and unworthy if being In the presence of the Alpha Heir, she needed not to be told by anyone that she ought to leave the room before she did.

Freya stared at Alpha Heir Damien awaiting whatever warning he had come to issue to her too, just like his father had done before him.
