Holding Ren in his arms, Kade blew on the soup before feeding it to his hungry baby. One sip, two sips, on the third sip, his movement halted.
"Ren? What happened? Hey?" Kade cupped Ren's face whose eyes had turned red, and tears were falling like raindrops. "Don't eat if you don't like it. We can order something else, okay?"
Ren sniffed, his glazed eyes never leaving the man in front of him.
His heart had always been looking for something to fill the huge hole in it. All his life, he had struggled to mend it even a little, but to no avail.
However, as he sat there, being fed by his lover with the food Kade had so carefully prepared, the emptiness inside him seemed to dissolve. For the first time in eons, his chest felt light as if all the pieces that had been missing were finally in place.
"Kade?" Ren choked as he tried to get a hold of his emotions.
