Ren awoke feeling trapped. His body was tightly wrapped, unable to move.
For a moment, he thought he was dreaming again of that same recurring nightmare. The one where a massive snake-like thing coiled around him, squeezing his chest as he was drawn closer to the creature.
But as he shifted, he felt the presence of human arms encircling him, and then he realized it was Kade… Oh.
Memories from last night flooded back, and with them, they brought a pink blush that tinted his fair cheeks.
Kade's arms were wrapped firmly around him. Marshal's face was almost buried in the crook of Ren's neck.
They were so close that Ren could feel Kade's slow, even breaths against his skin. He waited for a moment to confirm that Kade was still in a deep sleep.
Only then did Ren carefully begin to wiggle out of Kade's grip. However, he only moved to the edge of the bed before getting dragged back into the familiar arms.
"Awake?"
