Ren moved forward, his footsteps echoing softly against the tender grass spread on the floor of the garden. The faint sound of laughter and applause carried from the distant banquet hall, but he paid it no mind. His focus was entirely on the task ahead.
He could hear loud shouts from behind, indicating that the performance had started in full swing. The festive atmosphere created the perfect cover for his discreet activities.
'The performance has started. They will be busy with all the entertainment activities. Perfect for us,' little god said while motioning for Ren to walk forward.
Ren's eyes scanned the garden, searching for the bush in the farthest west corner the little god had indicated.
There were a few people lingering in the garden, their voices and laughter mingling with the soft rustle of leaves. Yet, as Ren moved stealthily through the shadows, none of them seemed to notice him.
