Ren stirred from his half-conscious state as the soft chime of his communicator roused him from sleep. Blinking blearily, he fumbled for the device, squinting at the screen as he read the message from Terim:
"Hurry up and come back!"
"Who takes an hour to eat medicine?"
This was the fifth message followed by other such notes, each more or less saying the same thing. After swallowing tiny pills of medicine and food provided by the hospital, Ren fell asleep.
It had been a few days since he came to this world, trying to correct the wrongdoings his other self had done. Ren was someone who cherished his solitude, but that absolutely didn't mean he never enjoyed the company of those he liked.
In this strange new world, Terim had somehow become closer to him. Of course, the system didn't count in this regard—his adorable system was his companion, not his friend.
