Kade's hands were around Ren's waist, holding him in place on his lap as if it were the most natural thing in the world.
The smirk on Kade's face sent a wave of heat rushing to Ren's pale cheeks.
"I… I don't think sitting like this will help you order dinner," Ren stammered, his voice coming out quieter than he intended.
His gaze darted to the side, avoiding Kade's intense stare.
Kade's grin widened, clearly amused by Ren's flustered state. "Oh, I think it's helping just fine," he murmured, his fingers lightly grazing Ren's sides, sending shivers down his spine.
"Besides, I think you owe me compensation, right, angel?"
Ren's face turned an even deeper shade of red at the sudden term of endearment.
"I said I'd compensate you," he mumbled, his eyes still averted. "But I didn't mean like...like this."
Kade chuckled softly, the sound low and teasing. "You're the only compensation I need, though," he said, pulling him a little closer.
