The soft, early morning sunbeams filtered through the window, casting a gentle glow upon the fair face of the still-sleeping teenager. A faint buzzing sound stirred near his ears, prompting a sleepy frown of displeasure. Mischievous strands of hair brushed against his milky cheek, causing his silvery eyelashes to flutter in annoyance. Something tenderly glided along Ren's cheek, soothing the irritation caused by the stray hair. His frown eased, and he drifted back into a peaceful slumber once more.
At least, he wanted to, yet failed to do so. Just as Ren was about to slip back into the realm of dreams, he was startled awake by the sudden urgency in the cub's voice
'Get up! Your pervert uncle is staring at you! Hey! I said get up! Don't blame me if something bad happens later. He is touching you! Oh, Lord system, Help me!'
Before the lord system got summoned, the system saw its host waking abruptly and nearly kissing the floor in the process.
You can't blame Ren for this. Upon waking, all he saw was the enlarged face of an unknown man, staring at him with a creepy smile. It made Ren subconsciously step back. With his foggy brain and clumsy moments, Ren forgot that he was sleeping on a single bed and almost fell to the floor.
"Hey sweety, easy there. You will hurt yourself." A person who appeared to be in his early twenties offered his hand to Ren.
Ren's mind began to clear as he gazed at the brown-haired man before him. He hesitated, staring at the outstretched hand but refraining from taking it. How could he? This was the person who had made Dorion's life a living hell. Ren stabilized himself while looking at the cub from the corner of his eye.
The person didn't seem to care about his neglected hand.
"Still so shy?" The overly tender voice immediately made goosebumps erupt on Ren's skin.
"H-Hello, uncle..." Ren managed to greet the man, relying on his previous memories. As he spoke, he discreetly scooted to the other side of the bed and pulled the blanket tightly around himself.
"Oh, my boy. Your teacher called. Said you were sick because you evolved. Pretty good for you, hmm?" The uncle's words sent a jolt of fear to Ren's heart as the man comfortably settled beside him on the bed.
Derik Vitakis, a 38-year-old person, was two years younger than Dorion's mother. Contrary to what Ren first imagined, he appeared more like a brown-haired friendly older brother next door, capable of making others feel at ease with his presence. But for Ren, that impression was far from reality.
Ren was already sitting on the edge of the bed. He felt his body shudder involuntarily as Derik embraced him. Derik ignored the resistance of the fragrant body and did what he always did. He kissed Dorion on his cheek and finally let the kid go. However, his arm remained draped over Ren's shoulder, a lingering presence that Ren found unsettling.
The system gazed at Ren's pale face, feeling a surge of anger welling up within. It would have bit this monster if not for the restrictions on its spiritual body!
'Wait Ren, let me call for help,' the cub exclaimed before disappearing in an instant.
How Ren wanted to shout at the cub for leaving him alone at this time! Sure, Ren encountered some perverts but those were just verbal harassments. Only once when he was twenty-three, he was touched by someone malicious, and he had been fortunate enough to be rescued by a good police officer.
Now, however, the only one Ren felt he could trust had abandoned him!
Ren had no idea whether it was his fear or the body's instinctive reaction, howbeit, he couldn't suppress the shuddering of his limbs.
The citrus scent coming from the body pressing close to him almost made Ren gag. He swallowed hard, suppressing the bile rising in his throat. Dorion would always end up vomiting his liver out after each and every interaction with Derik.
Forcing his uncontrollable limbs to stay steady, Ren pushed Derik away, Or at least tried to do so. Who would have thought that he would not even have that much strength?
What a useless body! Ren cursed internally.
'Little God! Hurry up and help me!'
In the next moment, a childish voice echoed in Ren's mind, 'Give me a second Ren, I'm bringing doctors to your room. I faked an emergency.'
Before Ren could breathe a sigh of relief, he felt his body being lifted.
Derik held Ren close, noticing a subtle change in his eyes. They seemed to sparkle as if reflecting the stars themselves. The sight of Ren's tiny hands resting on his chest brought a strange sense of satisfaction to Derik
"Baby, what are you trying to do?" Derik's voice carried a hint of a smile. His similar golden eyes lit up with amusement as if mocking Ren for his feeble and useless attempt to escape.
What could Ren do? Feeling powerless, Ren withdrew his hands as if they had been scorched by Derik's touch.
"Sweety, why are you not answering your husband's question? Hmm?"
Ren had it enough. Why was Dorion surrounded with perverts left and right? Perhaps due to the overwhelming stimulation, he recalled something he had never thought he would need to use.
'I can faint better than patients.' Ren shouted in his mind. He was suddenly so glad to have this gift. All hail to Fainting spell!
All Derik saw was Dorion's face growing increasingly pale. Before Derik's finger could touch Dorion, he felt the body in his arms going limp.
This time it was Derik who was startled out of his wits.
"Hey, Dorion? Boy, Wake up!"
The door to the ward swung open, and Director Yarx, followed by a team of doctors, rushed in to surround the patient.
"What happened?" Doctor Yarx inquired, swiftly clicking a few buttons on a nearby monitor as a few wires were attached to Ren's body.
Derik answered with a worried voice, "I don't know. We were talking and he suddenly went pale and then this..."
The system glared at the culprit. If eyes could kill Derik would have been buried twice by now.
It lay beside Ren curling its tail protectively around his wrist. Last night, it had been so eager to demonstrate its capabilities, but now it felt utterly useless.
With its current level not being the highest, the system knew it couldn't simply intervene directly from its place. That was why it went to Director Yarx and left an emergency message on his communicator.
In its anxiousness, it forgot that Ren's communicator could have been used. When the poor system was blaming itself, Ren was drifting away in his dreamland.
