Chapter 4 - Practical

Class 1-A of the Magic department made their way to a different building. It was a open roof building with a lot of space and covered with sand. Class 1-A of the magic department then saw a different group walking in, Class 1-A of the Warrior department.

They were having a joined practical lesson.

"Today's class we aren't gonna have any sparring or battles, but rather today is just a introduction on the difference between magicians and Warriors and how they battle."

Said Ms. Firestorm, and then she introduced herself to the warrior department, then the instructor for the Warrior department spoke to both classes.

"I will introduce myself to the magic department, you can call me Mr. Stormsword and I'm the instructor for the warrior department class 1-A. For the first lesson, every student will demonstrate either a technique or magic spell that they're confident in. This will be graded, you have 5 minutes to mingle and talk to each other. Starting now."

Arthur then spotted Valerie approaching him and he smiled and waved at her.

"Hey how was your first lesson?"

"It was fine, all we did we're introductions, I'm guessing it was the same in your class."

Valerie responded to him.

"Yeah, anyway what technique are you going to do?"

"Hmm I don't want to show any of my family's sword technique's for no reason, so I'll just show some of the techniques I received after becoming the third order's Knight commander."

"Oh yeah you did have that, but you didn't put much effort into it, because you said it was trash compared to the Hero sword technique."

"Well can you blame me? What about you? Any Idea on what spell you'll use."

"Depends on how things go, I want to be in the top 10 but not in the top 5. What rank spell do you think deserves like the 8th rank spot in all of the first year magicians?"

"Probably a B-rank spell, and you'll be in the top 10."

"Alright B-rank it is."

They continued talking until the Instructors announced that the 5 minutes were over.

They called on people from both classes based on alphabetical order. A few people went and then Arthur was called. He then walked toward the middle of the Gymnasium.

'I saw a few people perform some magic that were C-rank, and I'll assume that their the average level, so maybe a mid B-rank spell would be good.'

Arthur knew True Ancient Magic, but also a watered down version of Ancient Magic and also modern magic. The true Ancient Magic he learned from his mother, only his mother and him know this form of lost magic. Watered down Ancient magic that his mother learned from the Ambrosius family, he also learned a bit, and modern magic he learned to fit into the academy.

He used a B-rank modern magic spell, Ice spears, which created a bunch of spears made from ice magic. He stalled for 3 seconds and then casted, he watched the other magicians and it took them 5 seconds to cast a C-rank spell and thought that 3 seconds was necessary while using a B-rank spell to make it into the top 10. He then fired the dozen spears into the ground.

The whole arena was quiet. Arthur then walked back to his spot beside Valerie. She was giggling almost laughing at him. He didn't understand why.

"Why're you giggling so much?"

"I was just laughing at how bad your common sense was."

She said without explaining any further. Arthur then looked at the students and the teacher around him. They were staring at him with wide eyes. He was getting annoyed as they still haven't spoken or done anything after 3 seconds. So Arthur used an ability that only the members of the royal family of Augustine inherit.

Dominating Aura, an ability that used your soul to create an aura that oppresses and dominates those around. Arthur only used a very small percentage of it's power, just to get people back to their senses. Everyone flinched and focus returned to their eyes.

"I'm sorry your highness for the rudeness I committed."

Ms. Firestorm apologized. Although in the academy all were equal under the pretense of being students, status was still looked at and treated differently. Especially Arthur a prince from the greatest Empire in the continent.

"It's alright, resume the practical class."

Arthur said.
