A brown-haired boy was training his swordplay on the training field, if a normal person saw him they would think he was just training in a normal way, but if someone with experience were to observe him they would realize that the young man was improving with each passing moment.
Stance, strength, grip, breathing, everything was being polished and corrected at an incredible speed.
"Phew~"
With a sigh the boy rested his sword on the ground and took a break, and a brown haired girl approached to bring him water and a towel.
"Here you go."
"Thank you so much Leila."
Lucas grabbed the water bottle and drank it all in one gulp.
"Don't overexert yourself."
Said the girl to him with a worried look.
"Relax I'm fine, I'm going to the library now do you want to come?"
"I'm sorry but I have homework to do."
"I told you to do it first"
"Hey, I'm not a genius like you who can understand those complicated equations okay!"
"If you need help just ask"
After chatting for a while longer they parted ways and Lucas headed towards the library.
"I need to get better faster."
Although thanks to my skill I have been able to improve every day my swordplay is still not enough, after much thought I decided that if I wanted to have any chance of winning the duel I would have to have some ace up my sleeve, and now I was heading to the library to see if I could come up with something.
Once in the library, I looked up all the books on mana and magic management techniques I could find, thanks to my new ability my reading speed was very fast so I was able to read a lot of books in just a few hours.
"Ok, this is what I'm clear on for now."
Mana is an energy that is everywhere and in everyone , even a grain of sand contains a small amount of mana, the body continuously absorbs this energy every day automatically, but you can hasten the process by extending your own mana outward to draw mana from your environment into your body.
With this information he had just gathered, Luke thought of some strategy he could follow or some technique he could create
"Got it!"
After much thought an idea came to mind that might just maybe work.
"Shhh!"
"Ah, sorry"
Out of excitement he forgot he was in the library, he quickly headed to the training ground to test his theory.
*
"Isn't that the boy who was going to have a duel?"
Silfy asked, who had a notebook with notes and several sheets with equations scattered on the table.
"Who cares? Concentrate on the homework we have to hand it in tomorrow."
Replied Ria who was solving some equations.
"Sigh~ It's only the second week of school why do they have to give us so much homework? teacher Cintia has no mercy"
"That's the thing about being in the best class at the best academy in the world, but anyway, why is this bastard sleeping!!!?"
On the same table is Noah sleeping with some spirits above his head.
"He said he's finished all his homework."
"Did he complete his homework? him?"
"He said he always does his homework at the time it's given so he has more time to sleep later."
"Sigh~ If that's the reason I can come to believe him."
"Why are they making such a fuss, this is supposed to be a library."
Noah said with messy hair and a bit of drool on his face.
"Why did you even come if you already finished your homework?"
Ria asked
"Because I had nothing to do...and I wanted to see something interesting."
She said as she looked at the table Lucas had been at.
"Something interesting?"
"Never mind, by the way, those guys who are going to have the duel who do you think will win?"
"Again with that, why is everyone so intent on a duel between 2 idiots?"
"Because it happened in the first week of class and it's going to be a good show."
"It won't even be a good show someone from class D is going to fight the third from class C it's clear who will win."
"What about you Silfy?"
"I too think the C class guy will win, it's only been 1 week since the classes started and I don't think someone from D class is strong enough yet to beat someone from C class"
"Is that so? Well I think the guy from class D will win."
"Are you an idiot"
Ria refuted
"Wanna bet?"
"Sure, if the D class guy wins I'll stick lunch for 1 more month, but if the C class guy wins I won't pay for your lunch anymore"
"Deal."
With a handshake we sealed the deal.
"Get your wallet ready Riri"
"I told you not to call me that! And you'll be the one stoning!"
"Shhhh!"
"...I'm sorry"
"Too bad from you Riri"
"I'm going to kill you"
The days went by normally, everyone was talking about the duel that a boy from class D and the third from class C would have, some thought it was an abuse, others thought it would be a good entertainment and others didn't care because it was already clear who would win.
When the day of the duel arrived everyone gathered in the arena to watch the duel, a referee stood in the middle of the two contestants and began to dictate the rules.
"The match will end when either of the two can no longer continue fighting or gives up, it is not allowed to use artifacts, physical enhancement drugs or lethal moves, if you perform any of these actions you will automatically lose the duel Is that clear?"
""Yes""
They both agreed and the referee stepped down from the arena.
"Looks like you've been training a lot, too bad it was in vain."
Lucas was covered with bandages on his arms showing that he had been training very hard for the last 2 weeks.
Lucas just smiled at William's comment and with absolute confidence said.
"I'm going to make you apologize."
This annoyed William and with a hostile look he replied.
"I'll show you why insects like you should keep quiet."
The two got into position and the referee shouted kicking off the duel.
"Begin!"
