Grey sat in the back seat of his Tesla as it pulled up into Edwin's foundation hall. They were one of the biggest charity organizations in the county and had a lot of influential people partnering up with them.
But in reality, they were a bunch of people who rigged charity numbers keeping the rest for themselves and Grey hated that he had associated with them. He wasn't a good person, but at least he was honest about it.
He adjusted his black suit jacket adorned with red, matching his red tie, and of course Clara Richards' dress.
The place was packed to the brim, people struggling to get in. Couples and prominent individuals standing In front of the paparazzi, their pictures being taken.
As the car finally came to a stop in Grey's reserved parking spot. Mr Lockwood quickly came out the car pulling Grey's side open so he could come out.
His tall frame caught the attention of everyone around him as soon as he got out, and in about three minutes every journalist was rushing to have an interview with him. Camera flashing, media house representatives trying to shove their microphone down his throat.
Grey Carter was very popular, especially being listed as one of the youngest CEOs in the country. His good looks, and height didn't help either. He looked like a Greek god that was carved to modern perfection.
The security guard he brought with him quickly rushed over standing in-between him and the crowd as he was quickly led towards the VIP door.
He walked into the big hall, the bright lighting immediately stinging his eyes. "I hate it here" he muttered just as Clara sighted him from afar.
"Hey babe" she greeted, wrapping her arms around him. "You look good"
"We are in public" Grey replied ignoring her compliment as he tried to pull his arms away from her. "I don't want to give your father wrong ideas about us getting back together"
"Well isn't that an awful thing to say to your fiance" Clara replied smiling broadly. "Evan contacted me" she continued, noticing his confusion.
Grey sighed, shoving his hand into Pocket trying to contain his anger. He had forgotten to tell Evan not to contact Clara any longer, as he had a new plan in mind.
"I feel so honored" she smiled before leading him over to her anticipating parents. "Mum, Dad Grey Carter is here" she introduced watching as their faces lit up.
"Welcome son" Mrs Richards greeted giving him a light kiss on his left cheek.
"I'm happy to see you guys are back together" Mr Richards finally said, holding his glass of wine towards the couple. "Cheers" he urged
"Cheers" Grey replied in a dull voice before pulling Clara away from her parents. "We need to talk" he whispered before pulling her into the men's room.
"We could skip the party and go home" she smiled, placing soft kisses on his chest.
"No that's not it" he sighed, pushing her off him. She frowned.
"Why are you acting like we have never done this before" Clara continued, ignoring Grey's glare.
"I said no" Grey replied firmly shifting away from her. "What I'm trying to say is, I don't want us to get married"
"What?" She screamed, backing away from him.
"Evan made a mistake" he repeated, looking unfazed by her anger. "I don't want us to get married"
Clara didn't reply but the look on her face was livid. Her mind was swirling around the fact that Grey didn't even try to sugar coat his words.
"Me and you will never work Clara" Grey continued, noticing her silence. "I don't want to embarrass my family or yours by playing marriage"
"W-we could try" she tried to say but Grey shook his head.
"I'm not interested" he replied, looking down at her. "Thanks for the invite, but I'm going home"
Before Clara could react Grey was already storming out of the men's room, through the big halls and into his car ignoring everybody that tried to stop him.
He stood impatiently at the door as his Bodyguard quickly opened his door so he could go in, and a few minutes later they were pulling away from the Edwin's mansion camera flashes reflecting all over the moving car.
Grey picked up his phone calling his family lawyer. "Good evening Mr Grey" the man greeted in a low voice.
"Good evening" Grey responded, drawing a long breath. "I want to give you an urgent assignment"
"Happy to help sir" the man responded eagerly, The Carter family were his biggest clients after all.
"I need a wedding contract drafted and sent to me office as early as seven tomorrow morning"
"A wedding contract?" The man asked again to reconfirm what he was hearing. Grey Carter, the man notorious in the state for being a cold heartless CEO wanted to get married?
"I'll have Evan send the details to you" Grey responded ignoring his tone.
"Okay sir" the man replied with a sigh. "Expect it on your desk first thing in the morning"
"Good" he replied, dropping the call. He searched Evan's name clicking on it, it rang for three seconds before Evan picked.
"Good evening sir" he breathed through the speakers.
"Were you able to get her home address?" Grey questioned eagerly. "Yes sir" Evan replied, surprised at his boss' sudden interest in Bella.
"And the clothes?" Grey continued realizing he was slowly relaxing.
"She replaced only the top sir. She refused any other thing'
"Okay" Grey mumbled his mind trying to wrap around the fact that he was attracted to Isabella Casey.
At first it was just her eyes, that drew her to him. But slowly her simplicity, her eagerness to work, the few times their eyes met. He knew she understood but he was trying so hard not to make it obvious.
Not until now.
He wanted her and he was going to do anything to make her his.
"Evan?" He called out realizing that Evan was still waiting for him to speak up. "Sir?"
"Send all the details of the marriage contract to Mr Kurt as soon as possible" "Yes sir" Evan replied before Grey hung up.
Grey removed his jacket as the car drove further down the dark streets illuminated by just street lights, sighing as he threw his head back on the head rest. He had thought long and hard about this decision and realized it was the best deal plausible at this point.
His mind was made up.
He was going to offer her the contract tomorrow.
