Chapter 4 - Chapter Four

Bella wiped her hands against the bright blue apron she was wearing, she had been working for over nine (9) hours and was exhausted.

"Stop mouping around" Mr Benjamin the manager boomed looking at her. "We have important guests coming in all the time we have no time to waste.

"Yes sir" she said picking up the tray and rushing out to serve the customers "This isn't what I ordered" The man with a grey suit boomed.

"B-but you chose the_"

"Are you saying I'm lying?" He asked getting up his chair grazing against the tiles.

"No sir I'm only saying this is_" she tried to explain waving her hand frantically in the air.

"I said this isn't what I ordered for" he boomed looking angrily around over the counter. "Get me your manager"

"N-no sir I'm sorry,I'll pay for this just tell me what you want and I'll get it for you" she tried to reason.

"Get me your manager" he said in a low threatening voice ignoring her pleas

"Okay sir" she replied her head hung low. She turned towards the counter but was met with the manager staring down at her angrily.

"Mr Pete is one of our biggest customers and you dare make him angry???" He boomed making the whole room go quiet. She was embarrassed and more than that scared for her job. She needed it desperately.

"Im s-so sorry sir" she said bowing dramatically. "You can deduct it from my salary sir" she pleaded her head still hung low.

"Too late for that now" he boomed. "You've been slacking off lately and I'm tired of your excuses. Pack your bags and go"

"N-no. Please" she begged tears streaming down her face.

"You're fired Bella. Go home" he said walking away from her and towards the angry customer apologizing profusely.

She took one last long look at the restaurant she's been working in for there months and with a sigh she went towards the back taking her apron off.

"Bella I'm so sorry" Anna, her best friend said with a sad smile. "I'll come see you at home"

"Okay" she breathed trying hard to stop her tears. "Thank you"

"I have to go before I get penalized too" Anna said nodding sadly before picking up the tray and dashing out of the room. She looked round at all the staff looking at her with pity, this was not how she wanted the day to end.

She took a small brown box from the storage, emptying her locked into it with bawling eyes. How was she going to pay Mr Wang back now?

A few minutes later, she was fully packed and ready to leave, she gave one last glance at the building before exiting it. She had to start looking for a news job as soon as possible.

She was so distraught that she didn't hear the horn of the car Infront of her blow loudly. And in a split second, she hit the floor and the box went flying in the air as the car hit her.

Evan ran out of the car putting his hand on her neck. "She's alive sir" he said reporting back to Grey who was still sitting at the back of his Bugatti that had just hit her.

She moaned getting up as the pain shot through her bent arm. "Ouch" she yelped holding unto the arm. "My stuff"she complained still holding her aching arm.

"I'll pick it up for you ma'am "Evan said raising his hand up to calm her down before sprinting off into the middle of the road picking up all her old stuff he could recover. He brought the now half empty box towards her with a sad smile. "This was all I could recover" he said handing the box over to her.

"My money" she screeched. "Mr Benjamin had just given her half a month salary out of pity and she had just lost it. How was she going to pay her debt now?

Evan stood there looking at her contemplating what to do when the buzzing of his phone interrupted his thoughts. He looked down at the phone and saw it was Grey calling him.

"H-help sir"

"What the fuck is going on there?" Grey asked sounding pissed. What was he always so angry?

"The girl we just hit said we lost her money" Evan explained into the phone.

"Okay" Grey breathed. " Just ask her how much it is and give it to her. What's the fuss all about?"

"S-sir I'm not with any cash at the moment" Evan explained.

Grey sighed putting his phone down and shoving his hand down into his pocket. There was no cash.

"Do you have anything on you?" He questioned Mr Lockwood still searching for any cash on him.

"No sir" he replied looking back at him.

"Evan?" He called out into the phone that was now on loud speaker. "Come over here" he instructed.

The call ended and a few minutes later Evan was standing besides Grey's door. Grey pulled down the window and handed him a business card. "Tell her to come by the office tomorrow"

"Your personal business card?" Evan asked surprised looking at the gold coloured card in his hand.

"Did you bring any of the company cards?" He questioned sarcastically with a raised brow.

Evan let out a small smile taking the card and walking away back towards the girl. "Here" he said handing the card over to Bella who was now crying. "Come by the office tomorrow you'll be compensated" he said trying to calm her down.

Belle looked at the card, studying it with forrowed brows. "J&C cooperations?" She asked in disbelief.

"Yes" he nodded patting her small shoulders.

"This is Mr Grey's personal card" she commented. "Are you the Mr Grey?" She gasped shocked.

"Oh no,no" he chuckled. "I'm his assistant. Mr Grey will definitely not come down to pick stuff up for a stranger" he trailed off.

Bella let out a small smile holding the card tight."thank you"

"No problem" he said picking the box up and handing it over to her. Bella took it this time watching as Evan ran back over to the car opening it.

She glanced back at the shiny Gold card in her hand, was she dreaming? Did she really have the card of the most popular business man in their county in her hand? Maybe today wasn't so bad after all.

As Evan settled down in his seat, he glanced over at Grey Who was looking impatiently at Mr Lockwood who had just put on the engine again.

"I'm sorry sir" Mr Lockwood apologized driving away from the scene.

The drive was silent and pretty soon they were pulling up at the gate of the Carter's mansion. "Mr Grey is here" Mr Lockwood spoke into the intercom, and a few minutes later, the door hinged open.

They drive into the massive estate that had a big fountain by the side. It had a big house and smaller ones surrounding it. It also had a mini golf course and a lush garden filled with exotic plants on the side.

Security was tight, with a good number guards patrolling the perimeter and surveillance cameras keeping a watchful eye. Grey sighed as soon as the car came to a stop Infront of the main house. Guards ran over to the door opening it for the young master.

He came out adjusting his suit over his tall frame, nostalgia hitting him as looked at the house he ones called his home. He looked back at the car contemplating wether to just leave and let his father do whatever he wanted, but it was too late for that his father must have already been informed of his arrival.

Evan stayed in the car not wanting to be caught between the anger of his boss and his father, and pretty soon the car backed away to find a place to park in the massive garage at the side.

He went into the massive house looking sadly at the acrylic paintings adorning the expensive walls. He walked on the marble floors clacking as his shoes hit them. The rooms were spacious and airy, with a large window on the side.

He walked past the fully packed wine cellar, and up the stairs headed straight to his father's room at the far end of the hall. He had alot of built up rage and was prepared to drop it all on his father as he got to his door.

The two guards guarding his father's door bowed as they promptly opened it allowing him to pass through.

"What did you want to see_" he half yelled, but was caught off when he saw his father lying on his bed with an oxygen mask covering in hid nose. He looked at the plastic tube connecting to an oxygen tank, and the hiss of air being pumped into the mask filled the room.

"What the fuck is this?" He asked looking down at his sick father.
