"I'm pregnant." Kalina repeated, her voice trembling, her eyes fixed on the ceiling as if searching for some hidden reassurance.
"But I thought that test was a fluke?" Mia's voice came through the phone, tinged with confusion.
Kalina sighed deeply, her hand instinctively moving to her stomach. The gesture was gentle, almost hesitant, as if she feared acknowledging the life growing within her. "I'm two months pregnant, Mia. It seems like the drugs I took last time messed with the birth control, and your brother and I... well, we're not exactly known for being careful. So yeah, I'm pregnant."
