Natasha couldn't get a wink of sleep, her mind constantly drifting to Dominique's reaction upon seeing her. Though Kalina had assured her that she would talk to Dominique, Natasha's mind was far from at rest.
The next morning, she found herself pacing the room, her eyes frequently darting to the door that connected to the stairs leading to Kalina's office. She was waiting for Kalina to walk through it any moment now. It was already past nine, and Kalina, usually an early riser, seemed to be running late.
Voices from downstairs indicated that the workers were already there, so why wasn't Kalina here yet? Deciding to while away time, Natasha went into the kitchen to feed Fluffy and make herself something to eat.
