Kalina jumped slightly, her face flushing a deep red. Her wide eyes snapped to the door, where Mia stood with a shocked expression. Dominique's head whipped around, his eyes narrowing in frustration.
"Mia!" Kalina exclaimed, her voice high and breathless. "Could you knock next time?"
Mia's eyes darted between them in disbelief. "At least have the decency not to commit this atrocious act in front of Fluffy. Are you planning to scar her for life?" Mia asked, walking toward the bed and picking up Fluffy, who had tired herself out and was curled up into a ball of fur, sleeping soundly.
"Atrocious?" Dominique scoffed at the term. "She is my wife." He deadpanned, his tone laced with exasperation.
