"I'm sorry about last night."
Mordeu scoffed before approaching. He opened his mouth to say something, but Freya's hand on his shoulder stopped him from repeating the same mistake as last night.
With this contact and Freya's displeased gaze, Mordeu held his tongue. He turned back to Cillian, willing to accept his apology and even in the mood to deliver one.
"You did nothing wrong, Cill. It was all me. I had behaved like a totally horrible person. And I'm sorry, for last night and for being a bad friend all this time."
Cillian sighed in relief, his face further decorated by a calm smile. "I hope we can move past this. Harbouring resentments shouldn't be what our team should be known for."
"Team?" Mordeu raised an eyebrow. "I thought we'd established a friendship already?"
Cillian's eyes darted to Freya before he looked back to Mordeu. "Nobody's pushing you to accept us the way we are, so don't push me to call them my friends."
