Jimmy and Temi came to a concrete understanding and agreement, from their dream experiences and personal convictions, that there was truly an eternal bond and connection between them. Temi Also agreed to join Jimmy in exploring the possibility of them having shared a previous life but she needed to observe her dreams more, harness and control her natural affinity with water, believing that there was more she needed to learn about herself from therein. She had returned to her home after they hugged and kissed passionately.
An hour right after Temi left, James and Liliana showed up at Jimmy's house to find him very unhappy. Immediately, his two childhood friends sat down, he lashed out,
"What was that all about yesterday?"he yelled, facing Liliana.
"What was what?" She snorted in response.
"Why would you embarrass my guest like that? Why disrespect me in my own home?"
She ignored him.
"Answer me!" He howled.
"It was exactly what it was, Jimmy!" Liliana yelled back, "What part of the things I said yesterday do you not understand so I can explain it to you? How do you expect me to be fine, watching you play with that girl, after how much I've shown how I feel for you?" She began to sob! "What part of, I'm in love with you and have always been, all these eight years, do you not understand?"
"What part of, I don't feel for you that way and I've always regarded and treated you as a friend and a sister is hard for you to comprehend?" Jimmy yelled back! "Do you force love?" He paused for a while and continued,
"Liliana, listen up. I'm fed up with this charade. Love isn't something you can manipulate or force onto someone. It's predestined, and it's clear to me that my heart belongs to Temi. We're bound by fate, and there's no escaping it. Your attempts to force yourself into my life are futile and frankly, disrespectful. It's time you faced the truth and stopped deluding yourself. I won't be manipulated any longer."
Lilian approached him and held on to his shirt and cried,
"Jimmy, please understand. I've loved you for eight years. I can't just let go of those feelings. You mean everything to me, and the thought of losing you is unbearable. I've held onto this hope for so long, believing that one day you'd see how much I care for you. How can you say it's not meant to be? I can't just accept that. Please, Jimmy, don't do this to me. I can't bear to lose you." Liliana sobs softly, her voice trembling with emotion.
Jimmy calmed down as he watched her break down. James who had been seated and watching the drama silently, began to get emotional himself, Jimmy stared at him trying to ask for his help in salvaging the situation. James came close to the crying girl but was still at a lose.
"Liliana please, stop hurting yourself and open your eyes to see! It's high time we face the truth here!" Jimmy demanded calmly.
"Lily, come take a seat please!" James snorted as he pulled her by the hand and took her to her seat.
Silence descended upon Jimmy's private sitting room as Liliana calmed down and wiped off the tears in her eyes
"Liliana, I'm truly sorry if my words have caused you pain. It was never my intention to hurt you." Jimmy broke the silent solemnly, "But I need you to understand that I didn't choose who to love. Love found me and tied me to Temi, seemingly by fate. I never knew her until our paths crossed, and since then, I've been unable to shake off the connection we share. I understand how you feel, loving me without it being reciprocated. But imagine the pain of someone who had loved you deeply for these eight years too, he's unable to confess it out of fear of losing your friendship. That pain, I feel, is the worst of all."
Liliana looked up and stared at him while James bent down his face to hide his tears.
"What are you saying Jimmy?" Liliana muttered.
"We are all slaves to love!" Was all he could say as he moved his eyes towards James, Liliana followed his gaze and found James sobbing. She observed him as the truth glared back at her face. In confusion, she got up, picked up her jacket and fled the room.
Days later, Jimmy's friends didn't come visiting again, he didn't hear from Liliana but he heard from James. James was good but busy with stuff, he said Liliana went back to London without a word. So Jimmy got busy as well, he missed his friends though.
He focused on putting his dreams together and with Temi now on board, therapy was more exciting for him.
He met with Dr. Patel and he described in great detail all his dreams since his last season, Temi's visit, the poolside drama and Temi's dream.
"I'm more than convinced that Temi and I didn't just meet by chance, we are predestined to be together and I'm sure our dreams are trying to tell us something about our past lives."
He said excitedly to the psychologist.
"Jimmy, it's fascinating to hear about your dreams and the connections you feel with Temi, both in your dreams and in real life. Sarah called Jimmy two days later, she made a fuss over the phone about how heart broken Liliana was.
"I didn't break her heart Sarah, I have never misled her nor in any way, encouraged her feelings, you of all people should understand that." Jimmy emphasised on the phone, "I pleaded with you several times to talk to her as your friend, and make her know that I was never into her, I only saw her as a good friend and nothing more, but you both went on building the castle in the air. What happened was bound to happen sooner or later, please don't blame it on Temi."
Jimmy's mother was no less happy, she worried about Liliana's current emotional state and how it would affect her studies. She also fussed about how the breakup would affect the relationship between both families.
"Breakup? What are you saying mom?" Jimmy probed over the phone with her mother, "There was never a thing between Liliana and I. How can there be a breakup when we're never together? Jeez!"
Uka was the only one who didn't nag Jimmy, rather he was concerned about his therapy and how he was dealing with the misunderstanding between his friends.
"I'm okay dad, the therapy is helping me a lot. When you are home, I will fill you in with every development. As for my friends, I pray they will be good!" He responded to his father.
