Chapter 5 - Chapter 5. The Duke of Norfolk

By the time they got to the palace, Edward and Elizabeth were in a soup, and Baron Smith was still riding slowly through the storm on his precious iron shield.

Of course! In the end it was Elizabeth who won, her horse was full grown, just the right amount of fat and much faster than Edward's colt.

"Hey! Edward, Father is counting on you then!" Princess Elizabeth proudly tossed the slightly curly blonde hair, held up her slightly convex buds, and proudly took a broken step towards her room.

Edward knew this was the outcome, but it was just a way to keep Elizabeth out of the rain; shouldn't a brother with an adult soul take care of his sister?

Just as they arrived at the entrance of the palace, Lucy and Luna, who had been serving Edward from, rushed to their side. Looking left, looking right, scrutinizing, as if to find an abnormality.

"Okay! Lucy, Luna, nothing's wrong with me!" Edward stated helplessly.

"Your Highness! You are from to now, which day has not been sick, only recently got better ..." together with the disease, slightly older Luna was heated up.

Edward laughed bitterly inwardly and covered his ears with both hands helplessly, while Lucy, winking mischievously, covered her ears as well.

Luna and Lucy were a pair of sisters whose parents were serfs of the Tudor royal family, and were recruited by His Majesty the King to be Edward's ladies-in-waiting because they were close to Edward's age. Of course, being long and pretty was just one of the reasons.

Luna was two years older than Edward and Lucy was one year older. Both had brown hair and dark blue watery eyes.

The two had been around since Edward had arrived at the age of six, their formerly barley-colored skin gradually turning snow-white, and their rounded thighs looking powerful, the result of doing things on a regular basis.

Luna was one point taller than Lucy and half a head taller than Edward. So as soon as Edward looked up, he saw Luna's chest jiggling from the words, and the young girl's just-developed breasts were so big, like buns, that Edward's heart involuntarily swung a little.

Luna seemed to notice Edward's eyes paying attention to her chest and unconsciously shrank back a little, then straightened up again and looked at Edward with a provocative gaze.

"Hehe, if it weren't for the fact that this body of mine is still undeveloped, I would have made you look good long ago!" Edward helplessly shifted his gaze, thinking furiously in his heart.

Luna couldn't help but feel disappointed in her heart after seeing Edward move his gaze away, although her age was still young, she already knew that her whole family could only rely on Edward at the moment if they wanted to get rid of their status as serfs.

After his eyes moved away, Edward changed the subject, "Luna, how is His Majesty doing today?"

"Your Highness, His Majesty the King is doing well today, he's just a little thirsty for sleep again, and is only just waking up at the moment!" Luna replied back in a whiny tone.

"Okay..! I'll see Father" Edward walked towards the King's bedroom, "Oh! Don't forget to feed Arthur some barley and eggs, he's put in a lot of effort today."

"Yes!" Luna and Lucy hurriedly saluted in response, only to see Edward walking with blistering footsteps. By the time the two got up indeed Edward's shadow was long gone.

The sisters looked at each other, and with a 'pfft', both sisters burst out laughing, the pleasant sound echoing throughout the gallery.

Straight to the bedroom, the long corridor was filled with elegant goodness and nobility.

The smooth floor was painted with a brownish-red paint, a nautical antiseptic paint, applied liberally to the floor, at least three coats as far as Edward's eyes could tell.

The walls were covered with various oil paintings of God and His Son, and pictures of the armor-clad kings of the ages, each looking extraordinarily heroic.

When he came to the door of the master bedroom and saw that it was Edward, the doorman opened the door directly and let Edward in.

At this moment, His Majesty the King was holding a Bible and looking through it with extraordinary devotion.

Henry VIII was well educated from an early age, with the poet Skelton as his teacher, and when he was a little older he met and consulted Erasmus and a number of Renaissance luminaries. He knew Latin, French, Italian and some Spanish and Greek, loved poetry and music, and could compose and play. Some of Henry VIII's actions in the early years of his reign show the influence of the new Renaissance ideas. He called the learned humanist Collet, who vigorously attacked the corruption of the Church and the ignorance of the clergy, "my doctor".

Henry VIII was also very erudite and his court was a center of academic and artistic innovation. He even wrote a book in Latin. The discovery of the Americas (the New World) gave Henry's creative spirit a whole new arena, and he was the first European ruler to study global geography.

In his later years, Henry VIII was suspicious and paranoid, which was inevitable for both ancient Chinese emperors and Western kings.

But His Majesty was never suspicious or hectoring about Edward.

Edward's arrival disturbed the king, and Henry VIII looked up to see that it was Edward, and his anger-filled expression melted like snow into a cheerful scowl. It was no wonder Elizabeth was jealous of him.

Lying on the bed, Henry VIII looked at his only son, his mood did not feel lighter, and asked in a doting tone "My dear Edward, what is it that you want to see me about?"

"Eh! Father, Isha is tired of playing with me today, so let's not have etiquette lessons in the evening!" Edward was a bit unable to stand the king's tone, it was like coaxing a child, even though his current body was a child.

"Okay, as long as you're happy!" King Henry said very softly.

"But, Edward! My health has been getting worse lately, and you will have to be ready to take on the responsibilities of the Tudor crown." The King's voice trailed off slightly, "God's mission to our shepherds is about to pass into your hands!"

"Child! I am about to meet God!" The king's tone was tinged with a bit of sadness, "You will be king of England and Wales, and any stone that stands in your way will be kicked away."

Edward was stunned by King Henry's words, surprised both by the fact that the king's body was nearing the point of collapse and by the meaning beyond the king's murderous words.

The king's words proved not to be in vain, and at the end of the year Henry VIII set off another wave of purges of Counter-Reformers by deciding through Parliament to apprehend Thomas Howard, Duke of Norfolk, who opposed the Reformation.

And Thomas Howard, Duke of Norfolk, is the head of the Conservatives.

Thomas Howard (~year), originally thoashoward, was a famous nobleman during the reign of King Henry VIII of England. He was the son of the 2nd Duke of Norfolk. He became Secretary of State for the Navy and helped defeat the Scots at the Battle of Flodden. After inheriting his father's dukedom in 2007, he took the lead in organizing a faction against Thomas Wolsey, then President of the Royal Council, and took his place in 2007. He supported the marriage of his niece, Anne Boleyn, to Henry VIII, but presided over Anne's trial in the same year. He skillfully suppressed the rebellion of the Court of King's Pleasure and became the most powerful of the king's favorites around the year. His position was weakened by the execution of his niece Catherine Howard in the year and the execution of his son Henry Howard (~) for treason. He was imprisoned on charges of conspiracy with his son, but was released by order of Queen Mary in 1900.

Overall he also deserved what he got and kept on making, and his son was hanged for treason during the Elizabethan period in history.
